My little cousin just told me last night that Thundercats were back on...

no one told me!

the board slipping:lol:

And that Green Lantern has a new series and Young Justice is also back...

with Milestone's ICON!?!?!?!?!?!?

RIP D. McDuffie

The new Avengers series is supposed to be fire AND there is a new Ultimate Spiderman series????

Is this some tyoe of animation renaissance ofr something...

my wife and office manager both watcher Thundercats first season and were shocked by the adult themes and drama in a cartoon...

I got hit BGOL Entertainment this weekend:dance:

Now I'm not apologizing for not saying anything about Young Justice and the Avengers, we've had a pretty good length thread about them but I do apologize about not telling you about Thundercats. My bad, bruh. I've been watching every episode but I didn't see a thread or even a mention so I thought I might be the only fan of the new show.

It's been pretty good so far.

Sorry again.
Won't happen again.
:D

because cartoon network sucks, they changed from playing from Friday to Saturday without really mentioning it

the tv section keeps us all up to date. there is a new avatar as well. its pretty good. maybe the best animation/plot/characterization that ive seen this year in animation for a television series.

I don't know about all that, its always funny how the cats always beat the henchmen except for when the henchmen want to steal or kidnap someone. Avengers is much better

i wouldn't say that is the case with avatar: the last airbender or this new one.

THAT'S IT!!!!

I know my DVR was set up...

that is some garbage...

I'll check if they re-air eps on line...

but they suck:smh:

I got to see some of last week's ep though...

that was AMAZINGLY WELL WRITTEN...

no cartoon has the right to be so thought provoking and melancholy...

when Lion-o's mother, now able to conceive and pregnant, kneels down to the young Tigra and corrects herself and doesn't call her "little prince"...

I actually know kids who have experienced that ...

with the fade out and the crown dissolving...

and the tragedy...:(

DAMN...JUST DAMN!!!

this is REALLY being slept on and they screwed up royal cancelling that new GI JOE...

So far I'm not feeling the new spiderman that much. It feels like they are trying to do to much with cutaway sequence jokes. It reminds me of Family Guy :smh: I hope they change that.

Been on the thundercats for The past couple of weekends since they moved the whole friday line up. If you miss it saturday morning u can catch up the same time Sundays. Gotta say I'm happy about the move. Fridays belong to spartacus. I head over to my cuz we smoke some bud, eat then head to the bar.
Looks like cartoon network has the exclusive to DC comic characters and Disney xd are running with marvel. Sorry but New spider man and avenger series on Disney can't touch the art or the story lines of young justice, thundercats, Ben 10 and even though its a getting a slow start green lantern.

Young_Justice_TV_series.PNG

26 ep. first season, already renewed for a second sounds like 46 TOTAL.

the last episode of the season airs this week:eek:

"Auld Acquaintance"

no spoilers

After Red Arrow was brainwashed into planting mind-controlling microchips on the Justice League, Vandal Savage begins The Light's next plot and it's up to the Team to stop him while fighting the mind-controlled Justice League.

THEN...

a week later the second season starts:confused:

"Happy New Year!"

The intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo arrives on Earth and fights Young Justice... but his arrival is only the prelude to a greater threat.

Thundercats_logo_2011.png

got a 26 ep. season...

they came back March 24 2011 from the break...

they are up to episode 17

14 "New Alliances"
15 "Trials of Lion-O (Part 1)"
16 "Trials of Lion-O (Part 2)"
17 "Native Son"

Thundercats SUCKS! I'm not the only one thinking this right? Horrible writing. Wining over and over again between Tigra and Lion-o? The old show was better, wacky and campy but better.

disagree.

The worked hard to take a cartoon/toy commercial into a cohesive story with complete histories and rivalries while still honoring the original.

While not ALWAYS successful...

there have added death, war, racism, slavery, faith vs. science, etc.

I like that the cats are not univerally revered...

the Tygra vs. Lion-o thing is getting overplayed but it has added a dynamic that was completely nonexistent in the original and REALLY fits well...

especially with the jealously and Cheetara...

the revised Mum Ra actually makes more sense now...

and Lion-o learning skills and making mistakes every episode is much more organic...

That's how I got caught too since my DVR is set up for the old time slot. The only way I found out different is I caught the last minute of the first or second ep when my DVR recorded "Green Lantern".

Did they cancel it? I heard it was coming back and that's the only reason I've kept in on my DVR list.
That episode was so good. It filled in a lot of holes about Tygra and the Queen and I got that character so much more.

Not "Family Guy" to me but the "Teen Titans". It's pleasant enough but, like "Teen Titans", they're set up for a serious turn here and there. I didn't like "TT" at first and it grew on me and I'll give "Ultimate Spiderman" a chance to do the same.
I get them, though. You don't want to do the same thing over and over again with the same character.

After last week, I stopped thinking the rivalry between Lion-O and Tygra was overplayed. Lion-O took everything from Tygra and that should be some hard shit to get over, especially if you "know" you're the superior everything.

never liked avatar, too many of those cheesy cliches that you find in most cartoons

i just watched the first few avengers as i had never seen them.

you can't tell me that the avengers are not cliche. i was hooked from the very first episode of avatar. i feel the same with new series.

although the avengers is not awful imo i pales in comparison. there is no depth here. i actually paused an episode to come back here and type this. so far this feels mindless. maybe its because i collected comics for over 20 years. i had to stop because i got bored with them. same shit over and over again even with the ultimate series.

obviously we have different preferences. imma try and tough out the rest of this season and see if it improves to me. but right now this is background shit while i work. i actually sit down to watch avatar, thundercats and even sponge bob will grab me every now and again and make me stop what i am doing.

i think i agree although i have no interest in that green lantern show.

Man...ya'll keep that Avengers and Green Lantern bs out of this Thundercats thread lol.

But for real, I think this version of the Thundercats is pretty damn good. My wife was even watching it last week and said "I can't believe how adult this cartoon is. It's pretty good."

same thing here:lol:

Green Lantern is the shit!!!!!!! I thought it was gonna be garbage but that's far from the truth

:hmm:

finally saw this...

its OK better then average definitely...

but it seems so limited...

the CONCEPT is good, finding new lanterns, there was a good run of this in the late 70s and 80s comics...

they really need to go the source materail for direction...

but it doesnt hold my interest and the computer animation is just OK

but it isnt WACK.

what I hate about these cartoons is they all have the same storylines, for eg. there is always that one episode where a team member meets some new friend of family member and automatically trusts this new stranger like a idiot, then the other team members will be suspicious and try to warn the the person that they don't trust this new guy then the fool gets mad and trusts the stranger he/she just met over their team members who they've known much longer then it always turns out they were right after the fool gets betrayed by the stranger

The show drags. The writing is not compelling at all. The first pilot episode was full of fire and kept me enthralled. After that, the show just seemed to stammer. Young Justice has been great. Fast paced yet still full of story. The voice on Thundercats sucks as well. I'm giving it till the end of this season to pick up the pace or I'm done.
