Vince firmly believes heels don't sell merchandise, but my argument to that is the NWO t-shirt. Vince never releases merchandise for heels when they're hot, but he will when their popularity is completely gone as a face:confused: The only time he made shirts for heels was during the AE and Evolution.

I just saw an interview with Dolph Ziggler where he says he's trying to get over even though the WWE doesn't have merch out there for him. Another thing is that the Miz has a pretty popular shirt out. Even Punk had a popular Shirt with the SAS. They had a list of toop 10 selling merch and although Cena dominated the list Punk was one of the few people to have items listed.

It's not about it being PG. Some of the best stuff they've ever done and has lasted for decades was done under similar guidelines. It's the shitty writing. Even if they decided to go harder, the writers would still suck and it would be horrible just the same.

I slightly disagree. I mean I guess it depends on the person but the Attitude era is my favorite of any other era in wrestling. If you weren't as PG friendly you wouldn't have to rely on the writers as much. The rating doesn't do much to the product. I agree. I look at TNA and i'm not sure exactly what their rating is but they have a lot more leeway than the WWE and do nothing with it in regards to their writing. Their show could easily be done G rated and it won't be effected. But when I think of the Attitude era I think of how much leeway Rock, DX, Stone Cold, Mankind, etc. were all given on the mic. This shit now? Its now boring, corny and predictable.

He's just assbackwards like that.
Not just the nWo shirts but the Austin 3:16 shirts got hot while Austin was still a heel. Shit, the Road Warriors were merch sellers when that wasnt even a thing when they were still heels in the AWA.
Vince does not let reality influence his beliefs, he's a Republican.

Attitude was good but the best time for me was when there were no "writers" per se just bookers, during the 80s. WCW during the nWo/Goldberg run could be considered PG and they didn't have writers, just Eric and different guys on booking committees. The Attitude Era actually had plenty of writers (that's how we got Russo and Ed Ferrara) and it's looked back at fondly but there was a lot of stupid shit going on then too.
It's corny, boring and predictable because they're booking/writing to the whims of a 65 yr old man: Vince.
What's crazy is when it's not predictable, it's unpredictable in a bad way.

About Impact!, once Vince Russo was demoted the product got better and more consistent quickly and it's been the best wrestling show on tv for months now and they're FINALLY pushing more guys and newer faces . In the last couple weeks Austin Aries and Magnus have been in main events.

Speaking of funny stories, the Mulkeys were so hot after beating the Gladiators (hyped up like some big time team from California for weeks but it was just George South and some other guy) they got into the Crockett Cup tournament and got a US title shot at the Midnight Express in their hometown of Anderson, SC.
Cornette said in his book (can't recommend strong enough) that they were supposed to go in, sell a while and then win in a screwjob. But like Flair in the Dominican Republican, the crowd was so hot (over 2000 people in a 1500 seat rec center), with most of the town being related to the Mulkeys, they just sold for the Mulkeys until they blew up, Bobby pinned Bill, and they ran to the back, grabbed their bags, and ran to a car a ref had running outside. In the rearview mirror, Cornette said it looked like a shot from a Frankenstein movie with the villagers chasing after them.

Them were the good old days.

Another funny story was from Mid South when Butch Reed and Buddy Landell tar'd and feathered Terry Taylor in Greenville, MS. Terry was the new babyface on the scene and the white girls loved him plus he was hugely over and good in the ring. Anyways Landell knew the deal and bolted for his car and got the fuck outta dodge. Reed being black needed a police escort to the county limits:lol:. Them Mississippi rednecks were mad mostly because seeing Terry get feathered made their daughters cry. Then the fact that a black guy got a white guy to help him tar and feather another white guy was a breaking point.

I loved how Mid South had so racially charged story lines:yes::

Skandor Akbar vs. anyone. Akbar being Arab and have an anti-american gimmick. G.O.A.T heel manager.

Junkyard Dog and Captain Redneck Dick Murdoch vs. Ernie Ladd and Bad News Brown. JYD had the black fans and Murdoch had the redneck white fans. It has been revealed Murdoch was a legit klansman later on. Still together they were awesome as a unifying force vs. the two black heels in Ladd and Brown. I remember posting a promo when Ladd and Brown called JYD a sellout for teaming with redneck trash:yes:.

JYD vs. Butch Reed. So historic. Greatest black on black fued ever. Black wrestling fans in the south never imagined that a well liked black wrestler would attack JYD. I remember Reed being Pro Wrestling Illustrated's magazine #1 heel. This included heels from all promotions and territories. Reed having the most hated spot in PWI for several months straight just was awesome. JYD and Reed also sold out the Super Dome in NOLA.

Butch Reed vs. Dick Slater and his black valet Dark Journey. Reed stopped short of calling her a hoe in a promo.

Kamala for obvious reasons.

Back then they were doing things that could've have gotten people killed, but when they talk about it they loved every minute of it. As far as Akbar(R.I.P) goes he used to run a wrestling school here in Dallas, i would sit back and listen to him tell so many stories about The Von Erichs, Flair, Rocky Johnson(with little Rock hanging out in the locker rooms:lol:)Stone Cold, Ice Man King Parsons etc etc.

Hell real talk my friend who is a trained wrestler was in the ring training with another guy and im sitting on the couch they had, out of nowhere Kevin Von Erich sits down right beside me with no shoes on and says "hey how's it going, you plan on getting in there?" my face froze and im not going to lie i almost started acting like a groupie:lol:

Cena was rather entertaining, but should have said fuck it and wore a Lebron jersey, they gonna boo u anyway!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if they use this Long-Laurinitis thing to turn Miz face by having him join Team Teddy Long since Laurinitis seems to continually screw him over or ignore him and it gets him into Wrestlemania.

By the way Funkasaurus and more importantly Naomi's ass up next.

Rock song was good, but cena will now say rock needed the titan-screen to sing the song. Rock was better than cena to me.

Im not going to lie i marked a little when Cena came out in his old gear, but then i saw that he looked like an old dude trying to look cool. Rock won this week but the queen song didn't come off that well since people really didn't have an idea of what was going on, but that can just be written off as a send off to close the show. The Eve story if true was gold and all in all i give Rock an 8 and Cena a 5(the homo lines killed it for me). This was actually a very good Raw and im actually looking forward to next week(oh yeah Taker Wrestlemania April 21st:lol:)

wouldve loved to see what happened if the car had engine problems..theyd probably have gotten dragged out the car and beat within a inch of their lives

Wasn't Cena the one that complained about the Rock using dick jokes and questioning someones manhood? But it's cool if he does it.

I like the fact that the Rock talked about Cena's wife. Had he ended it right there it would have been cool.

Not going to lie. A smile came to my face when Cena's old music played. I know that they're never going to, but fuck it, I really wish they would just stick with that gimmick.

John Cena tweeted

"He didnt need em on his hand he had lyric sheet, and then they were on jumbotron, but @therock is back! And #WM28 its on! Best v Best 4/1/12"

Hate how he's always such a hype man

Rock took 30 mins to say the same shit he's been saying for 3 weeks. Cena took 3 mins and for the 3rd week won the audience over. Rock is fucking looking corny as hell It was funny at first but after 10 mins it was horrible.

After Raw went off the air, The Rock thanked Cleveland again, read some signs in the crowd, and pointed out one that said, "ROCK SING TO ME IT'S MY BIRTHDAY," along those lines. Rock then did indeed bring the girl to the front row and sing her Happy Birthday.

Bonus Dark Match: John Cena beat Kane. Cena ducked a chair shot and won with the Attitude Adjustment in five minutes.

Afterward, Cena got on the mic and got a hoard of overwhelming boos. Cena said he was happy to finally see the real Rock. He said he enjoyed the sing-along & that The Rock had sex with his mom.

Cena then brought in Cleveland/national rapper, Machine Gun kelly. Cena put over MGK and Cleveland (the boos were gone at this point). He then thanked MGK for allowing him to use his music for WrestleMania.

Finally, Cena announced that MGK will be performing his entrance live at WrestleMania in Miami. The crowd left happy to conclude the taping.

Im sorry who did he win over? He won the crowd over at the start of the show, but by the end Rock turned them against him yet again. Cena having to go back to his old gimmick and saying shit showed he's run out of gas in this feud.

Rock had the crowd in the palm of his hand.... Very entertaining ESP we will rock you haha

The queen song would've been better if it was just the instrumental and they just repeated we will rock followed by Cena sucks. Cena said that Rock is back but if memory serves me correctly he said that after SS, if he comes out there next week and starts that Dwayne crap again i'll be convinced he just doesn't know how to play antagonist in a feud. He should also watch the Jericho/Punk promo from last night, because Punk was smiling but he sold it beautifully when Jericho brought up hi father. It's amazing how a promo can become serious when both parties participate.

They've both run out of gas in this feud to me.
This has fallen behind Punk/Jericho and even HHH/Taker in "Matches I want to see".

The year long build has taken it's toll but imo Rock dominated last night, both lines about the wrist notes and Eve i believe were worked but the Eve diss hit harder tbt Rock just gave her a rub. In all seriousness HBK/Taker lost me last night because that promo just dragged, not to mention the crowd seemed to lose interest during it as well and HHH doing the DX chop was basically him saying "i got nothing"

Ya'll ready for this:smh:
Hornswoggle posted the following on Twitter last night about The Rock and John Cena: "Glad @TheRock needs to sing karaoke to get his $hit in. @JohnCena will always be a true professional, doesn't need scripted lines, bullet points, or #stupidsrxualinuendos like @TheRock"

So a bag of nuts don't count as scripted? And giving Rock a "Pearl Necklace" & "Cleveland Steamer" don't count as innuendos?

Can the wrestlers be even more one-sided against the Rock? Even the Bellas took a shot at him. Besides Cena only has wrestling to concentrate on while the Rock has Hollywood interests.

This is almost turning into the Hogan/Piper situation where Hogan was for the "Rock and Wrestling connection", while Piper wasn't hearing that shit. The Rock should go all Hollywood and start bringing actors and shit in to side with him.

Piper actually did have a hit film with "They Live", all Hogan had that was entertaining was "Suburban Commando". Rock has the support of all the old school guys so he's not sweating any of this.

JR on Rock haters starts at 58:24, the whole video is a good watch as well.

I'm pretty critical of the current WWE product, but even I found Rock's concert really entertaining.Personally, I don't want them to have any physical contact until Wrestlemania. I like the direction they're going with things in terms of build up. The Rock is unstoppable out there. I appreciate the WWE's efforts in trying to make Rock look weaker (the wrist thing for example), as even some in this thread are buying into it. But Rock's natural charisma is just powering over all that for me.
