Spiritual Goals

I'm heavily invested in setting and reaching goals. I've been doing a lot of reading about goals and how to set them for the last 2 months. In fact I have 10 different categories I'm trying to set goals under. They are:

  1. Health
  2. Spiritual
  3. Mental
  4. Personal Development
  5. Family & Friends
  6. Community
  7. Knowledge
  8. Finance
  9. Career/Business
  10. Personal

Do any of you have spiritual goals? I'm trying to get more definition on what spiritual goals are. I'm trying to set some for myself. I have ideas of what spiritual goals are like meditation, and fasting. I'm pretty sure there are a lot more I'm covering like attending church (which I probably won't do anytime soon) or reading the bible. List some examples of spiritual goals you have because I'm trying to get more examples that I may consider setting.

You must first know what you are setting out after? or be prepared and ready to accept and receive the answers that will be given to you once you start down that road. Your sub-conscious is already asking the question, but are you ready for the answers that will come ?

Once you start, you will realize there is no goal you can set, no more than a baby that lies on its stomach, then crawls, then sets itself upon its knee's then stands, does not have a checklist of what its going to do each day. The same with your inner spiritual being. It is something that grows and matures, it doesn't have checklists as such.

The fact that your contemplating setting spiritual goals, is an indication something is happening to you anyway ??.

Actually that's a great point. I guess things should come naturally to me soon. I guess I need to be patient and see.

I would say spend alot of time praying and meditating to yourself. Strength comes from within. You will find what you are looking for if you stay consistent and determined.

^^^^^^^^^wise words being spoken
Just keep moving forward at all costs every day accomplish a new best. In anything even if it means something simple as running 2 miles at a faster pace than yesterday just keep crushing limits .

Limits ( The Grand Illusion )

1 goal - bang as many christian women as I possibly can and watch them struggle with the sin they have committed and watch them rationalize their way out of it. Married ones are the best - adultery, fornication, lust - big sins maaann...big sins!!:lol::lol:

Set goals that keep you open to the answers that naturalistic mentioned. Goals such as recite the 42 Laws of Maat 3 times per day, eliminate violent music, reduce the amount of certain types of films you consume, etc.

i just started few weeks ago...i lost my way in life over the last year...reverted back to the old bad me... fuckin involved women(who had bf's or husbands)... not praying (i dont pray to a GOD i pray to a whatever force is out there, I felt a spiritual void that I needed to fill)...i've established a more faith based base for myself...and things are changing... even my diet has changed. i have a ways to go but spiritually i'm back on the path i started making...most important is i'm relearning forgiveness which takes a load of weight of my soul...removing negative energy is truly helpful...

my goals are simple: live life as a man of faith...and let life evolve as it should but know when to be aggressive towards my pursuits while solidifying my constitution.

Is your mom or sister a Christian? If so start with them. That's a big sin. Now don't bring the foolishness in a serious thread like this anymore.

These are actually real good. I really need to consume less negativity. I'm pretty sure this won't be an easy task for me.

Mannn I have slipped so many times. I understand your frustration. I guess all we can do is start over again. Keep working at it brotha.

Hey fellas. I'm guessing anything dealing with the subconscious mind would be consider spiritual right?

I finally came up with some Spiritual Goals for 2012. They are
  • Meditate 30 Minutes a day
  • Find my core values
  • Strengthen my beliefs
  • Create a mission statement for myself

This has been assisting me on my path.

Peace Everyone

Good Morning.

Giving abundant thanks and appreciation to my Ancestors.
Your Sun lives on to grow and fight another day.
Shoutout to all of the free thinkers and courageous dreamers.
Keep Shining.
Shoutout to the beautiful people who still have faith in love.
Your light and essence are honored.
No limits, not even the Sky.

Now this is pretty good. I can use something like this during my gratitude session.

I got a good many suits. Ask your mom. She and I went on a date last week and I had on one of my new suits. :)

ancient forms of yoga do just this. I have learned to combine yoga with my meditation and it has been absolutely amazing. I would reccomend it. But it takes time and dedication. But anyone can do it.

I got a good question. What do you consider more important: health or spiritual? My health is priority. But I figure if my mental stability is sound or intact, how can I get my health in order.

The Spiritual aspect is slightly more important because it's linked to everything in your life.

Think about it deeply, once you gain a good balance between spiritualism and reality in your life everything else basically falls well into place (your relationships with people; your mental well being & peace of mind; your energy level; and your confidence & self esteem).

Of course it goes without saying that self preservation of health should also be a priority for obvious reasons.

People define spirituality in different ways so it can vary from person to person. It is sort of a safe non confrontational and non religious way to open yourself up to A Higher Power. It's kinda like what the 12 step people go thru who are in some type of recovery.

Each person can adapt it to their own set of beliefs and circumstances. This Higher power for some may be God or their deity. For others it may be a Higher Power within themselves. For others it becomes more of a metaphysical thing and it becomes some type of higher force permeating the entire universe itself.

What it really does is connect you to a force greater than yourself. It humbles you, it supplies you with an extra power source that you can tap into for strength, comfort and guidance. You can go as deep as you want to with it or keep it as light as you would like. It all depends on you the person.

It also takes you beyond just focusing only on yourself and causes you to focus on a force or power greater than yourself. This is actually refreshing and relieving because you are not alone and you are not so self-involved.

This also causes some to focus on contribution to some cause that is greater than themselves.

The best suggestion would be to research different spiritual philosophies and see which one seems to be a fit for you, your beliefs and your circumstances. Some of it gets kinda wild and far out and some of it is much more conservative.

It kinda reminds me of that little speech Tom Hanks gave in the movie "Forrest Gump" at his mom's grave site. He heard two differing philosophies one from Lieutenant Dan and one from his mom. He decided that life may be a combination of elements from both philosophies. He wasn't claiming to know all the answers but it was a conclusion that he decided to come to after hearing from both points of view.

Just some food for thought to chew on.:)

Yeah I was thinking Spiritual was more important also because like you said once you gain a good balance and everything else falls in place. Also just like you said health is highly important. I would say health is a very tightly close 2nd.

Thanks man. I guess I'm taking everything slowly with spirituality. I don't want to over complicate myself when it comes to spirituality. I will take your advice and research different spiritual philosophies in the future. As of now I'm trying to define my values. I consider that a spiritual thing. I could be wrong though. This is a great perspective you have provided though.

Researching religious observances and understanding them prior to personal actions. Taking time to unplug from the world and listen for God. Doing more to help others with my youthful enrgy and physical ability. Self education on the worlds major reigionsin an ffort to better understand fellow man.

I like this. One of my goals was to study the 3 or 4 major religions. I think that will give me an understanding of how people think.
