~Somebody Call His Mama~

The Wrestling Globe reports that WWE officials have decided to put Brodus Clay's "Funkasaurus" gimmick on hold for the time being. Word is that Vince McMahon feels that Clay's ring work wasn't where it needed to be for WWE TV.

The match against Heath Slater was cut from SmackDown a few weeks back when the decision was made that Clay needed to work on his in-ring skills.

What? They have FCW and NXT to work guys out and get them ready for Raw and SD. Clay has already been on tv once before and NOW they decide he's not ready?

Punk has been around a long time and been consistently good on the mic. The worst period as a promo guy he's ever had is right now when WWE is actually paying attention to him.
Not one of those guys mentioned would be the same or as interesting being book by the imbeciles Vince has working for him now. Every single one of them made their name before he went to tightly scripted promos and no one has broken through since.

I'm sure he can whoop some ass but he's a horrible worker. Lex Luger used to look great working tv squash matches too. So did Nikita Koloff and the Road Warriors when they got started but they were all shitty wrestlers (Nikita and the LOD got better, Lex did not).
I didnt repeat what you said about Santino. You said he could wrestle, I said he can't.
With Ryder, they're going to have to book him to stop being a pus and he might have to beat Kane at Mania for them to undo the damage. But even then, they would have to book him strong for years to undo the damage they've done.

So when he's good on the mic it's all him but when he sucks it's all them:hmm: Mark Henry has been hitting home runs with his promos so what's that all about? Punk is like Orton because when they finally made it to the top they let themselves become cookie cutter and that's on them.

How do you know Anthony is a bad worker? His character Santino is a goof ball wrestler so he acts accordingly. Hogan was actually a decent worker over in Japan but over here he was reduced to "showman". The greatest worker ever imo was Steamboat because he wrestled like a wrestler should and that's improve:yes:

I actually like the Orton comparison because it's spot on but mgmt shares at least half of the blame for not letting or even forcing them to be the wrestler that got them over. For Orton though, it was the whole Viper gimmick that's gotten him to this level.
You said it, when he got to talk freely, it shot him to the roof but now that he has to stick closer to what someone else wants him to say, it's not working as well. And it's not just Punk, it's Sheamus, it was Morrison, it's just about anyone they turn babyface.
Henry's done well but the only time he's hit it out of the park is when he was shitting on Michael Cole at the announce desk. Everything else comes off as scripted and I often end up frowning thinking "Mark Henry would never say that.".

You know who sucked on the mic: Billy Gunn. He was in the era of being able to say whatever he wanted to and worked with some of the best talkers around and he had nothing. Years later in TNA, still nothing. In this atmosphere, it's hard to tell if a guy can cut a good promo or not. But we can tell who can recite lines well and that's not the same.

I remember his early days when he beat Umaga and came in at first as a much less of a goofball. He sucked. He's had quite a few years to have a decent match and it hasn't happened. Unlike other comedy guys like Robbie E, Zack, The FBI in the old ECW, all of them have a track record of being at least decent. Santino doesn't.
Yeah, Steamboat might be the best ever in the ring. He could sell without it being corny or over the top and he looked legit in everything he did.

Damn I forgot about these...JBL Killed that shit

Yeah the Few Good Men Parody was the best imo along with the Taxi one. JBL needs to give Cena some acting lessons.

The HHH Brave Heart parody cracks me up when Ric Flair starts Woooooing at the donky.

On another note JBL as a commentator shits on Cole, Josh Matthews and of course Booker T.

He wasn't bad but he could be a little over the top. I just heard some old JBL commentary on one of dvds I just bought and he had his moments. He was no Ventura but I would definitely put him over Booker (I still enjoy Booker, he's so bad, he's great).

since chyna making a wrestling xxx parody she should have max hardcore play JBL

The gimmick got him over but his "Legend Killer" promos were so much better than his R.....K.....O.....promos:sleep:

Henry has been great since his heel turn and every promo aside from one has been believable, it comes off real because he can really do some damage.

If they would let Santino incorporate more Boris into his movesets then you would see a difference in his ring work. Im sorry but you bring up Robbie E and i just tune out:smh:

As for no more Naomi or Candice:angry::angry::angry: You see what happens when they put real women on tv, they just can't handle the fact that stick figures aren't sexy and nice asses are:yes:

He's fucking horrible but he makes me laugh in the way Dusty and Bobby Heenan used to crack me up when they worked together on WCW ppvs.

I fully agree. I loved "Legend Killer" Randy Orton. I know you can only run that gimmick so long but he's so boring as "The Viper".

He could but he still wouldn't be a good worker. You tune out on Robbie E but Robbie Eckos was a solid indy worker before TNA gave him "The Shore" gimmick. Santino was called up WAY too early from OVW and hasn't ever had the time to learn how to be a good worker because he never wrestles longer than 5 minutes.

As for no more Naomi or Candice:angry::angry::angry: You see what happens when they put real women on tv, they just can't handle the fact that stick figures aren't sexy and nice asses are:yes:

I knew this wasn't going to work and said so and I hated that this is how Naomi got brought up because she had a very disposable role. I grew to like it and now it's over.
The best thing they can do is let Broadus keep the gimmick and let him work longer matches in FCW and NXT. Let Naomi wrestle and find another hot Black chick to dance with Cameron.
And they just squashed Drew McIntyre to a guy who now Vince says isn't ready.

That sounds like complete and utter bullshit to me. Clay is solid in the ring and the way that they have booked him he hasn't needed to do much. This is more of Vince's delusional insanity coming into play. As much as I disliked it when it began Brodus was doing well and this delay could easily equal a burial of his character. The truth seems to be that Vince and the nimrods who make up creative headed by his daughter Stephanie don't what the fuck they're doing and didn't know where to head with the character. If his in ring skills needed work then he had no business on NXT let alone on Superstars and then the big shows Raw and Smackdown. And on top of that he has spent at least 3-4 years in developmental.

He's fucking horrible but he makes me laugh in the way Dusty and Bobby Heenan used to crack me up when they worked together on WCW ppvs.

2 guys who are great at off the cuff humor will always make ppvs more enjoyable:yes: It sucks that JR & Lawler aren't the 2 man team, because aside from Gorilla & Heenan they are the best imo.

I don't mind "The Viper" i just wish he could mix in his "Legen Killer" arrogance with it.

Naomi is too good to be on the sidelines while we have piss poor diva matches weekly on Raw & Smackdown. She showed how much better she was than every other rookie(sans AJ)on NXT, and the fact that she can't get on TV but Kaitlyn can:confused:is ridiculous.

I know there were people who didn't like the Schiavone/Heenan/Rhodes team because they (especially Dusty and Bobby) were too focused on cracking jokes and not the matches but they were just damn funny to me.

Maybe when he goes back to being a heel. You know he's bound to turn eventually, everybody does (maybe even Cena).

Im just going to chalk this up to a agree to disagree situation:lol:

If anyone had footage of Santino having good matches, I would be willing to reconsider, like I had to do with Orlando Jordan.
Santino did a little over a year in OVW. No indys or Deep South prior, just that year. If Cornette hadn't slapped the shit out of him, most likely he wouldn't have been called up so fast.

And that's been proven out because they don't even use Kaitlyn on tv anymore. She went from being the third member of the Sisters of Doom (which they never aired) to not even being on the show. I doubt Naomi would have been demoted so fast because she was at least good in the ring.

This will always be known as the Wrestlemania that should've been at Cowboys Stadium. I really hate this move because we all know where they're going for 30(MSG) so it's like they get B2B Wrestlemanias:angry::angry::angry:

Their YT videos are classic.
No scripted bullshit from Dem Boys. Just straight, country shit talkin'.
The people at Sinclair are in love with them so there is no chance of them leaving ROH anytime soon.
Quote of the year so far
