Should Pac fight Ortiz?

Bradley is boring? I've never found him boring. That guy brings ass, is always in shape and comes to fight. I don't care how hard or soft he punches. I'd be shocked if Bradley vs Pacquiao turned out to be a boring fight.

He hasn't had an exciting performance, much less fight, in a while. Even if Alexander was outmatched and Casamayor shot, he should have still put on a hell of a performance and he didn't.

That supposedly big ass fight he had with Alexander? That shit was a horror show. And then fighting Casamayor and still can't look spectacular?:smh:

And guys like that USED to fail at getting a big fight..... but with Pac's team calling the shots? Hell why not fight Devon Alexander then or even Maidana. NONE of those guys has EARNED a big fight. Before the fight with Floyd, at least Ortiz was coming off a FOTY type win and had just got himself a belt - a legit one. But Bradley? That's a fail on all levels. Dude doesn't bring in any money or fanbase, he can't punch, he's not an elite boxer - AND wasn't Pac's team screaming that they just had to give Marquez a 4th fight before a match with Floyd. This shit is disgusting, and the fact that anybody tries to defend either side's bullshit is very sad.

It won't be boring only if he gets KO'd within 4 rounds which would be the most entertaining thing he has done his whole career.

If some how he survives it will either be one-sided like Margarito getting beat up or him running like Shane. Both were wack fights as I predicted.

Has anyone ever looked spectacular against Casamayor? Casamayor is like Hopkins. I doubt anyone will ever look spectacular against him. The Alexander fight was boring because Alexander didn't want to fight. That's like saying Nonito Donaire is boring based on that last fight he had with that Argentine guy that tried to survive the whole night.

Whatever guys. Being boring is a matter of opinion not fact. I personally don't find Bradley boring. I also think Alexander and Casamayor are two southpaws that are not easy to look good against, like most southpaws.

Roach Worried About Pacquiao's Motivation With Bradley

With all indications pointing to pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao defending his WBO welterweight title against undefeated WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley on June 9 in Las Vegas, trainer Freddie Roach is a little concerned about whether Pacquiao can fire himself up for such a fight.

Roach told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard and Dyan Castillejo of ABS-CBN in an interview in San Antonio, Texas.

"It looks like Bradley at this point but the thing is - I worry about that some times, because can Manny really get up for guys like that."

Roach noted that Pacquiao steps up training for "exciting, big fights to motivate him of course. But Bradley is the one in the way right now and we'll take care of business and hopefully that other guy - whatever his name is - will come to the table" in an obvious reference to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The celebrated trainer was obviously disappointed that Mayweather didn't accept the challenge pointing out "when you call somebody out and then you offer a 70-30 split you know that is a deal-breaker. So who is really wearing the dress."

He said "50-50 is the only way that fight is going to happen. Both guys are superstars and they both have big egos and they won't settle for anything less."

A meeting is scheduled to take place today in San Antonio between Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, his stepson and Top Rank president Todd duBeof, Pacquiao's adviser Michael Konz and Bradley's manager Dunkin who told us "hopefully will put this thing to bed." After the meeting Arum told us they would contact Pacquiao for him to sign off on the fight.

Dunkin said "if everybody is on board we are ready to go."

He said Bradley "is very excited and very respectful of Manny and that he's a great fighter. He appreciates the opportunity. He is a real class guy, a very nice person and he's going to act like a gentleman and he's going to fight his butt off."

Dunkin said Bradley has fought at 147 pounds before and it's not going to be a problem moving up.

The manager recalled that Bradley had fought WBA/IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson who was one of four fighters being considered as possible opponents for Pacquiao along with Miguel Cotto who has decided to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr, Juan Manuel Marquez and Bradley and that Bradley "beat him easy, dropped him and won eleven of the twelve rounds and dominated Devon Alexander and made him quit. Tim Bradley is a real, tough fighter."

Roach Views Cotto as Much Tougher Foe Than Tim Bradley

The trainer of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, Hall-of-Famer Freddie Roach, expects a big pay-per-view buyrate for the May 5th junior middleweight battle between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and WBA champion Miguel Cotto.

"It's going to do well on pay-per-view, because Cotto is still one of the best boxers in terms of pay-per-view, behind Manny and Mayweather. He attracts a huge audience on pay-per-view. For us, Cotto would have been a much bigger challenge than Tim Bradley. As far as I'm concerned Manny has faced fighters like Bradley, "said Roach to Jose Gorrdian.

Cotto was Pacquiao's first choice for a June 9th return date. After both sides disagreed on the contracted weight limit, Cotto reached an agreement with Mayweather. Pacquiao will likely face Bradley.

"I feel that a rematch with Cotto was the best match for us right now, for boxing fans and the world. He's coming [off] a victory over Antonio Margarito and every time I see him he looks better and better. The fight would have been more competitive and profitable for us, but you don't always get what you want," Roach said.

Roach is pulling for Cotto to upset Mayweather, with a distance hope that a rematch with Pacquiao will happen in the fall.

"I don't know how good their chances are [to win], but I hope Cotto will win. My best wishes to Miguel, and I hope that he has the best fight of his life. Mayweather is a very good counter-puncher, but Miguel has a good coach in his corner and they seem to get along. Miguel and his coach have to figure out what to do," said Roach.

Wow, you pop back for that. Cotto is a bad choice imo, but there isn't a choice without negatives. Yet, if the comparison is to be made, you got one fighter that was beat by Pac vs Pac being Floyd's shadow for several guys. Regardless Pac doesn't want to fight Floyd, Marquez or fight Cotto at his weight class. He rather fight the smaller pillow fisted Bradley which is terrible.
I C/S with most of what you have to say here..except the part about him not wanting to fight Floyd. IMO i feel he DOES want floyd win, loose or draw

Pac doesn't want to fight Marquez? So what? Those dudes fought 3 times already and you're still singing this song about Pacquiao ducking him? Dudes that fight each other 3 times are not ducking each other.

Pac doesn't want to fight Floyd? Well, Floyd doesn't want to fight Pac. That whole issue's been debated a million times with valid arguments on both side for either theory.

Cotto and Pac already fought. Cotto was destroyed. So what if Pac doesn't want to go to the other guys weight class? It's not like Pac needs the redemption because he is the one that won the first one.

Bradley is good and will match up well with Pac stylistically to create an exciting fight. Bradley is very explosive and the fight will be great while it lasts. As a boxing fan, I can't complain about that.
WEll said my mane well said indeed:bravo:

I swear cats talk about that Ortiz/Maidana like that shit disqualifies Ortiz, but shit that was an amazing fight. Ortiz/Berto and Ortiz/Peterson were good fights. Shit even fighting Floyd, Ortiz was going hard, but it just didn't work.... Still that short fight was high energy. In all these fights Ortiz was giving out the punishment too except with Floyd. I'm not an Ortiz fan or even preferred him in the ring with Floyd, but he is entertaining as a boxer.
I wonder how good of a fight it would be between Floyd & Peterson..does he even stand a chance? Or would that just be a boring ass boxing match with Floyd winning easily:idea:

OABTW Nonito Donaire is fighting TONIGHT! that dude is the TRUTH!

Peterson is slick and exciting. Does he stand a chance? No. Would it be boring... probably not, because Peterson brawls in a different manner than Bradley... basically Bradley looks like he is shoe shining 90 percent of the fight probably because of his power. That's not saying he isn't a solid boxer when he wants to be, but he gets into these modes of ineffective (meaning it isn't doing damage) brawling that looks sloppy as hell. I know Bradley is your boy, but he should have fought and beat Khan just to get consideration for Pac just like Peterson should have to beat Bradley for that next level consideration. Either way of the three, all of them would get slaughtered at this point.

No one would debate this, but boxing a lot of times is based on your last few performances and Peterson has made himself more marketable and worthwhile... even to the point were people question if Bradley could beat him today.
