Should Pac fight Ortiz?

Now that Ortiz/Berto 2 is off..?

I like that match up more than Bradley, Peterson or Cotto, and they are against Marquez and Mayweather. I know they will fight Bradley no matter what, but I'm just saying...

Also should Ortiz try to get that rematch if Maidana gets pass Alexander?

Never gonna happen. He's too big, too young, too strong. Pac's people would probably try to get him to drain himself down to jr. featherweight or some shit.:smh:

Has Bradley or Cotto...? Shit, Ortiz has more claim to that slot. Peterson has more claim than Cotto or Bradley.

I disagree. I don't think any of them have done anything to warrant a Pacquaio fight. But, if Manny was willing to go to 154, Cotto would be at least a valid fight. Ortiz is the only one who campaigns at welterweight but he got knocked out in his last fight. Cotto, to his very small credit, has won all of his fights since losing to Manny (we already know they were shitty fights but he won them).

Cotto won against an one eyed bum and Ortiz was KO'd by the best boxer out there today. Some insane people want to argue that the end of the Ortiz fight was controversial which could be used as a selling point.

You are right about none of them deserving it, but we know who he isn't fighting are the guys who do deserve it. I would actually be interested in Cotto v Ortiz since cats want to act like Cotto is new and improved after another weak win, and I honestly see Ortiz' banana brain ass actually beating Cotto. Maybe I'm just realizing that I bought into a lot of hype with Cotto, and when got tough he took the easy route. Shit... Cotto verse anyone on his supposed level is what I'm looking for... Something like Clottey and I am totally against Floyd or Pac getting in the ring with him.

I'm not if they fight at 154. But Cotto/Ortiz is intriguing because I think Cotto could outbox him but would he or would he get sucked into a slugfest by the younger Ortiz?
But I'm with you: I would rather Cotto fight any of the quality jr middleweights than fight Floyd or Manny or Ortiz.

Why not 154? Ortiz is really a fucking middleweight. I don't think Cotto would survive the pressure to even box... I might be wrong about that, but I haven't seen the Cotto, who could really box in years. All I've seen is a man on the edge of crumbling even against weak comp.

Oh fa sho. Ortiz looked stronger at welter and would probably be even stronger at jr middle since he wouldn't have to cut much weight. Him moving up would make that division even deeper. Losing like he did to Floyd hurts him though. It's probably the biggest fight he'll ever have and he looked like a fucking idiot who cracked under the pressure of being on the big stage. But he's an exciting guy and he and Kirkland or Angulo would be fireworks.

Yeah the way he lost hurts him more than the lost.

Kirkland or Angulo would eat his food though imo.

I'd rather watch Khan vs. Ortiz. That would be a good one IMO

Not bad.

All of his lunch and dinner too.

I'm shocked no one has an opinion on a Maidana/Ortiz rematch at 147...

It's eh to me. Maidana needs to go beat somebody and do it for real. I'm tired of hearing about his punching power and he doesn't stop anybody of note. He edged an old ass Morales, a fight that had some fearing for Erik's safety when announced.
If he wants to move up to 147, I would watch the fight but I just don't see Maidana as anything but a good journeyman.

Floyd is now taking Pac's sloppy seconds in fighting Cotto May 5th NOW what...care to comment on THAT!:hmm:

How do you want to view it? It was mentioned in the ESPN article that when Cotto departed Top Rank, that a rematch with Pac was negotiated...However, the stipulations would be even worse than the first, with Cotto coming down to 147 instead of Manny going up to the 154 limit...

Floyd on the other hand will come up to Cotto's weight class to fight for his title even though Floyd has a belt himself (yes he did mention that he doesn't really care about belts)...His aim is to beat Cotto at his best...

We shall see how this fight turns out, since some are not convinced that Cotto has been the same since the first fight against Margarito...

Saying Cotto hasn't been the same is only to discredit him as a viable opponent for Floyd.

He has a belt at a higher weight and isn't being asked to come down.

Yes big difference.

Wow, you pop back for that. Cotto is a bad choice imo, but there isn't a choice without negatives. Yet, if the comparison is to be made, you got one fighter that was beat by Pac vs Pac being Floyd's shadow for several guys. Regardless Pac doesn't want to fight Floyd, Marquez or fight Cotto at his weight class. He rather fight the smaller pillow fisted Bradley which is terrible.

Pac doesn't want to fight Marquez? So what? Those dudes fought 3 times already and you're still singing this song about Pacquiao ducking him? Dudes that fight each other 3 times are not ducking each other.

Pac doesn't want to fight Floyd? Well, Floyd doesn't want to fight Pac. That whole issue's been debated a million times with valid arguments on both side for either theory.

Cotto and Pac already fought. Cotto was destroyed. So what if Pac doesn't want to go to the other guys weight class? It's not like Pac needs the redemption because he is the one that won the first one.

Bradley is good and will match up well with Pac stylistically to create an exciting fight. Bradley is very explosive and the fight will be great while it lasts. As a boxing fan, I can't complain about that.

I can't argue with any of this but the part about Bradley. He might be explosive but he's not a real puncher so he's not a threat to Manny who's shown he has a chin. His lack of fights at 147 also make him a questionable opponent. With Berto-Ortiz off, I would prefer he fight Ortiz. He's coming off a loss but that's never been a consideration before and it would definitely be an exciting fight for however long it lasts.

He could't fight Floyd, because he had to rematch Marquez that is what they saod after the fight. Yes, he fought Cotto and actually won, but who was pushing this fight instead of fighting Floyd when the already said they had to fight Marquez.. If they made Cotto an option they should have at least put out the Margarito deal on the weight.

Bradley is a boring and weak option. In reality he is small and green as far as comp level. I won't even waste time downloading that shit. Spend your money and knock yourself out with that bullshit and do the same with Cotto/Floyd. I hope I'm wrong, but I know I'm right.

I swear cats talk about that Ortiz/Maidana like that shit disqualifies Ortiz, but shit that was an amazing fight. Ortiz/Berto and Ortiz/Peterson were good fights. Shit even fighting Floyd, Ortiz was going hard, but it just didn't work.... Still that short fight was high energy. In all these fights Ortiz was giving out the punishment too except with Floyd. I'm not an Ortiz fan or even preferred him in the ring with Floyd, but he is entertaining as a boxer.

The match-up is actually up in the are for me. I think Khan should stay at 140, but Ortiz is stationery enough to benefit Khan's offense, but then again Ortiz' power and pressure will fuck up Khan's life.

As long as he can keep his composure, I would favor Ortiz. That's a hell of a "if", though.

I think Khan should move up. He's killing himself to make 140. Not having to lose those extra seven pounds would make him a stronger fighter.

Maybe but if has any plans of rematching Peterson... He should stay there unless he knows for sure that Peterson is moving up too.

Bradley is boring? I've never found him boring. That guy brings ass, is always in shape and comes to fight. I don't care how hard or soft he punches. I'd be shocked if Bradley vs Pacquiao turned out to be a boring fight.

I don't see the rematch having any chance of being different between these two, especially 140.

But you know I think Peterson should move up to, seeing how big he was for the Khan fight.
