Why DON'T we support the other forums on here?

Just a question cause I just read a thread requesting a cooking forum and almost ALL the responses were :​

"SHIT, WE DON'T EVEN GO TO THE OTHER FORUMS WE GOT NOW!!!"​

I don't think we have asked a simple question as to WHY? that is.

The few members who frequent the other boards will tell you the dudes on there are knowledgeable and very well informed.

I realize this MEGAUPLOAD has been a MAJOR hit but I dont think we frequented the other forums ONLY for content (although I KNOW it was the PRIMARY reason).

I have gotten some good advice and assistance on IT, finance, schooling, music and film.

Have had great discussions on comics and investing...

Is it that threads get LESS responses on the other forums?

(I would argue you get less but more specific and experienced answers and much LESS trolling and BS)

Anyway I thought we could discuss this...

since pretty soon we are going to have to decide if we are going to change HOW & WHAT we post with all the changes happening on the net.​

I feel that the most resourceful ones are used -- music, Hollywood tv and movies, homegrown. The others are generally frequented on an in need basis. More use of the sports forum would lessen some of the chatter on the main board.. This shit is evolving into a reposting chatroom without the abundance of downloadable content. Just scroll down the front page.. Smh.

When we want to talk to people with very little knowledge but think they know what they're talkinig about, we come here (see any boxing thread on the main board).

Wouldn't people rather get the RIGHT answer?

Instead of jokes for at least a full page before someone drops some knowledge?

Don't get me wrong as a contributor I know the rules but I've seen people ask for help fixing their PC after a crash and get like 20 views and no responses and that shit is on page 10 in like 10 min.

But on the Tech board like n hour later not only do they get a response but links and a PM from BLACK

Yep. I learn nothing from most of the posts on the main board when it comes to boxing. Too many cats that watch only the highest profile fights and only the most recent.
On the Sports board, I get to talk to guys who have followed boxing longer than I have or are more closely engaged.

I thought we could benefit from the increased audience but from the responses so far it seems the exclusivity of the "other" forums is appreciated.

It also seems like there is no reason for "expansion" either ..

I always thought an eduction and JOB forum would be EXCELLENT

I guess it is more of a "clutter" or "house keeping" situation on the MAIN Board then, that has become an issue.

I don't see how it could benefit those boards. The people who go there now, really want to be there and some of them have rules that keep out the guys who can't control themselves. More isn't always better.

Im mostly in the Comics and Audiobook forums but lately I've been checking out the Graphic Design forum


Out of all the forums the Sex Stories one makes no sense at all......


It would be nice if we had an Education forum though

its a moot point cause hnic needs some type of subforums to get people to wanna join the site an gettin rid of any at this point would make the place seem pretty empty to a new user

but the politics, sistas online and ock hall of fame forums should be merged into the main forum

the business and networking forum should be a sub forum right under the audiobook/ebook subforum

get rid of the sex stories forum and for the most part leave the other forums on the backup board alone

everything ur left with can be put together in some sorta way to make an education forum

an all the how-to shit that gets posted should be posted on the main forum an some of these damn lurkers need to post something in these threads

I always wondered the same thing I just think when people go to them and don't see much activity, they assume they're dead and bring it back to the main board for the activity but I've found some good things perusing those areas.
