LaDainian Tomlinson critical of coach, quarterback

New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson will appear on Wednesday night’s “Inside the NFL” to be aired on Showtime, and the veteran had some choice words for his head coach and quarterback.

“I would prefer him not to say it as much as he did,” Tomlinson said of head coach Rex Ryan, according to the New York Daily News. “I don’t mind every now and again saying we are going to win a championship. Maybe at the beginning of the year just saying, ‘Hey, our goal is to win a championship.’ But at the same time every week if you are calling out a team on certain things, I think it puts a little extra on your team. Guys really want to go out there and say, ‘Let’s shut this guy up. Let’s shut these Jets up, just end their season.’ I think that adds to that when Rex speaks up like that because, you know, everybody doesn’t like that type of style, and they’re not supposed to. But at the same time there are certain things that you can do to not have it come off like that.”

Tomlinson was also critical of quarterback Mark Sanchez, saying that he was “pampered” by the Jets because he has no one competing to take his job.

Shonn Greene is the reason JETS are not in the playoffs...LT is the back up he was not signed to be the feature back...he was brought there for leadership & compliment Greene's game....

Greene has been declining every season...no run game Jets are done....they should have never dumped Thomas Jones...he would have been a better back up for Greene since he has basically the same running style...

LT can say whatever he wants he is a 1st ballot HOF

I'm not mad at LT for speaking up. These are all things that have been discussed here. Sanchez being pampered, Rex talking too much shit. LT had some good runs this season. I don't even have a problem with Rex talking shit, but damn talk shit and WIN!

WRs being the others. Collectively the Jets have the SLOWEST players in the offensive speed positions I've seen in a long time. On defense we were slow at the safeties.

Rex & the Jets organization knew what they were getting signing LT...& at times the HOF back showed good burst & great hands on plays he played up to the standards of a 30+ yr old back....

expecting LT from his prime in SD is ridiculous he produced when necessary...Greene has been declining every year...maybe its the plays called or the O-Line...but he is not producing the same...his YPC are down every year so far...

LT is a legend he can say whatever he wants....he doesn't have to back up Ryans dumb ass talk.....the coach should try to be the coach & not the star of the team & tone down all the talk...Namath been calling him on that all season...

the whole Jets fiasco falls on Rex IMO...he appointed Holmes as captain...why not bring in Brunnell & sit Sanchez during those terrible stretches?

Rex was on the radio talking about Sanchez was mad at him because Brunnell had more snaps one practice ...you think Coughlin would give a fuck if he was the coach?...dude wants to be their friend/star than a HC...good luck Jets...
