I thought the game was over, and it's only halftime

They're putting up basketball scores in football :smh:

Clemson never recovered from that fumble return TD. There would probably be as many points scored by both teams but it wouldn't be as lopsided as it is now.

its by design
they penalize everything on defense and hardly anything on offense
the defense is restricted, can't touch can't hit, can't tackle, have to hit at precise spots...meanwhile if a rb or qb or wr goes head first into a defender its great, if they stiff arm him and almost break his neck its a great play.

this is why the spread and the pass in general is popular and people are putting up numbers.
why run where they can hit you when your wr's can basically run 7 on 7 flag football drills and you can just throw it to them?

the offense already has an advantage cause they know where they're going.
with the rules, there is no way for the defense to really truly stop them. other than blitz every down
or have an unbelievable pass rush so that the qb can't even throw

What the fuck happen to defenses in college football

You mean what the fuck has happen to football on all levels, Goddell started this shit in the NFL. No defense at all anymore and watch some people be crying come Monday night because there will actually be some defense being played between LSU and Bama..:yes:

49 points at halftime is just ridiculous!

Let's give the NFL one more season my dude. I think the defenses suffered the most from the lock out. On top of that, you have the best D.coordinators in the country (except for J.Castillo) drawing up new schemes to counteract the offensive favoritism by Goodell.

Now for College football,

Except for the SEC, your always gonna get high scores.

Although..

Giving 49 points in two quarters is atrocious

man im not going to front

I WAS WRONG!!!!!

dude the scores and the stats are only going to get worse in the nfl not better

unless they restrict some of these new rules it will not change

offenses have a major advantage that no one can combat and the refs throw flags in a heartbeat

hell look at all the QB's this year that passed or came close to 5000 yards

even eli had damn near 5000

the shit is absurd!

What's happened is these wack ass conferences don't put any emphasis on recruiting defensive players like they do offense. We all know which conference this doesn't apply to so I won't even mention it. That's one of the main reasons SEC teams are always so dominant against other conferences though... prime example being the OSU/Florida game a few years ago.

Florida's defensive line was so much more quick/dominant than OSU's offensive line that they didn't stand a chance. Didn't really matter how good their QB was when their defensive line was in the backfield on every play. I'll tell you what really started this though, the implementation of the spread offense. They figured they'd rather just outscore you than try to stop you and West Virginia was one of the best examples of that.

wait till Monday night, you'll see some real football not none of this 56-53 shit

I dont understand why people always had a problem with defensive games....I rather watch those type of games than watch a shootout...Defensive games are more strategic than having to score on every possession...

Hey I am for some offense as well but this shit has become just like you said, Arena football!:smh: I has gotten pathetic and it seems like they use instant replay on every play now....:smh::smh:

Fuckery! K Steele must go! Cant keep blaming it on the freshman. He gets paid too much for this crap! He had 30 days to get them ready... Str8 shyt!!

Ironic that you would mention the Ohio State/Florida game b/c I would actually use that game as an indication of why the Spread offense is so damn popular now. They ran Percy Harvin on slants all nights b/c no one on that defense could keep up with him.

The difference with Florida was they could put up 50 points on you AND hold you to 3 points in the game. They were balanced on offense and defense.

I agree with that. That just isn't the first thing that would pop into my head though about that game. Personally, the game that immediately jumps out that shows your point is the Georgia/Hawaii Sugar Bowl from a few years back.

That's why laugh at people when they say USC could of beaten Florida,LSU and Alabama :smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

How can Jon Gruden say West Virginia could flourish in any conference...:smh: ......Every team in the SEC would beat them

I feel you. I think we're gonna see big stats for a couple of years.

----
You can't jam a receiver past 5 yards anymore,

You can't knock a QB on his ass after 1-5 tenths of a second of him releasing the ball.

You can't hit a receiver as soon as he gets a ball off a slant (You used to have to be a warrior to play in the middle of the field!). You have to wait for him to "see you" or else he defenseless.

The biggest X-Factor- Athletic tight ends.

----

but,

I trust that coordinators will come up with schemes to calm that shit down.

We're gonna see faster Linebackers.

We're gonna see more Pierre-Paul type Ends with Suh like tackles.

We're gonna see Safeties that cover better

We're gonna see taller Corner Backs.

Since Goodell is trying to get rid of hard contact, I think the defensive game is gonna be all about coverage.

The game is changing. The offenses has the advantage now, but I think the defenses will catch up.

people complain... but when LSU played bama, motherfuckers were critical.

the easy way to look at it... NAME THE DEFENSIVE STUD PLAYERS FROM ALL THE GAMES YOU'VE SEEN THIS YEAR IN BOWL SEASON, so far.

name them.

now, count the FUTURE NFL players on the field in the LSU vs bama cship game.

nick saban and les miles are the only coaches in the bcs games that even remotely give a fuck bout defense.

I was trying to wonder why it took so long for a thread to get started for this game.

It was a problem at the end of the 1st quarter.

Fumble return was a BEAST!

exactly

but I dont know if Saban and Miles are the only ones though but their just isnt that many teams that play defense like LSU and Bama right now

they are just pushing out studs on D year after year right about now

you cant give up 70, embarrass your entire conference and just keep your job...
at least dock his pay for failing to show up to work tonight or something...
unexcused absence
