Official Miami Heat Basketball 2011-2012 Season Thread.

Win or Lose Coach Spoelstra and Pat have stated that no Heat player will play over 30 minutes and all their time will be limited do to the right schedule.

That's true because of the compact schedule. But damn, 3 more minutes for a young rookie Cole in the last stretch of the game wouldn't hurt.

Trust cole is earning his keep... Dont be surprised Mario is traded before the deadline for another pg like Earl Watson..

Or they waive him and bring Arenas.. I can see Arenas just off the height alone. He can back up Cole

Mario hasnt done anything to deserve trading or waiving

No...but they got their first of many (L)s. Overrated. Lost to a bunch of Geritol sippin' suckas last year. The pathetic thing is one day they will win and EVERYONE will be like a told you so. They will CONVENIENTLY forget that this so-called legend, future HOFs, etc. got their asses handed to them by OLDER PLAYERS. They will CONVENIENTLY forget that these "great" players literally had to WAIT UNTIL muthafuckas were ANCIENT before they won it all. Big Three? Shhhhheeeiit.. In name only. Who knows...maybe the injury Gods will strike the Celts again and allow them to win THAT SERIES again.

I know this is one loss, a lose that occurred after the tail end to a back to back nevertheless, however there are a few alarming negative trends that I've noticed about Miami, and if they dont address these issues a repeat of last year is not out of the question.

1- Charmers is a cancer on the team, he has some talent but he tends to sulk and be negative and his behavior is contagious on the team. Plus like many Heat players he gets fed while Wade and/or James is really hot, if they are not, Charmers is no where to be found.
2- The Heat gets nothing from their centers, matter of fact I think they have the worst centers in the NBA.
3- They get very little offensive rebounds from their big men, that means the Heat get very little easy 2nd shot points.
4-Cole needs more mins, he is the only other player other than Wade and James who can create his own shot, and not have to be set up by an overe shifting defense focused on the big two, and unlike Mario, he doesn't sulk after a mistake or two, instead he keeps playing hard, and always challenges the defense.
Also Cole is the only Heat that dosn't get lured to sleep when the tempo slows down, especially against the zone.

I know once Cole gets his feet wet, and starts playing more, most of the problems associated with tempo should be cut down, and hopefully Curry has enough in the tank to give the team a big man who can not only give the team easy put back point, but also help with the tough rebounding in the paint.

This but they gotta figure out how to effectively combat the zone-defense

And if they havent dedicated time to dealing with it then Spoelstra and the coaching staff have some serious explaining to do.

Part of it is that he has the wrong personnel on the floor when they go to it.

After the playoffs least year, you would think it would have been a priority...because Dallas gave them LOTS of problems with it.

They dont have a lot of good pure shooters on the squad but tactically, they should have a plan to deal with the zone defense so that teams to default to it to slow them down

The heat can play a half court offense, they have a guard who can bust the zone defense... Plus with Shane getting his stroke back it should spread the offense even more when he gets open.

Think they did ok against the zone especially when cole was in, but they need a solid center down there to keep the defense honest. Offensively Curry can do that..

I think they will tweek plays against the zone to see what effectively works..

It also didnt help wade being off his game either.. Ninjas looked tired.

They will come back and run Atl out the gym

Seriously, are you trying to replace Beeii as the official NBA thread troll?

Dude stop whining like a sissy! I barely got 5 post in this 6 page thread....wtf are you typing about? If Im a troll for what I post then half the ninja's in this thread are trolls also.

Im responding to sports threads just like everyone else. Name me one thread on BGOL whereas the only one's that respond to the thread are fans of the team that the thread is about? Some of the kats in this thread, the Knicks threads, etc be responding to Bulls threads on the regular.

Do you see me in the fucking Detroit Pistons or Milwaukee buck threads? No! Im in here for a reason. We're the top teams in the same conference what do you expect? Its just friendly trash talking/typing...so stfu!

Also....Beeii just tries to piss people off with silly shit. Last years he was bringing up old shit that happen back in the Jordan dayz posting pics of D Rose in tank tops and the whole 9! I dont do silly shit. I just type the truth about certain teams. If you cant handle it then just put me on ignore...I dont really care.

BTW......the Bulls will show you all how to handle the Hawks tonight since you all couldnt do it last night.

......lol

BULLS!!!!!!!!!!!

He gets exposed by faster guards.. Teague was toasting the nigga.

:yes::yes::yes:
Not only that he allowed him to get to his head, and once that happened you could see it became contagious. From what I've seen when Mario gets challenged or makes a mistake he sulks, and looks for Wade and LeBron to bail him out.
However, when Cole gets challenged or makes a mistake he plays harder.

The Heat does have problems vs the zone, for sure, but I am starting to think not all of it is physical. I really believe that the zone or even a slow down pace (a style they often play after they have a large lead) lures them to sleep.
They are such an emotional and high energy team that sometimes redundancy is the best way to tapper them off a bit. Last night you could actually see the energy level in Wade and James dip..
Now to off set that they need a spark plug, a Vinny Johnson, a Nate Robinson type, someone who is naturally high octane and who is capable of pushing that ball up before the zone can set. Also they need a much more animated coach someone who is gonna get in the face of the players and challenge them. To me
Spoelstra is way too laid back and lacks the urgency to challenge the big stars on the team.

Correct.. The heat should pick up Areanas

These fools were clowning tonight. This was basically a scrimmage in preparation for that rematch with the Hawks tomorrow.

I know they beat the Pacers and all, not bragging about that. But the simple fact they were out there clowning how they did, breaking statistical records without D-Wade and Bron beasting with a sprained ankle :itsawrap:

bout to watch the re broadcast of the game

Good win... Lebron was playing like the MVP from the Cavs tonight.

Hopefully that ankle ain't serious. If anything, Wade plays tomorrow night and Bron sits out.

Nice win, would've been nice to see the pacers work that zone longer, even tho I understand that's not them. I hope Battier find his shot soon, that would affect that zone defense to a degree.

Every team in the league can play zone all they want that shit is only going to work but so long... you think the Heat are not figuring out how to crack that shit as they play?

This maybe true but, I gotta be honest...Indiana didn't play much of zone tonight. We'll see tomorrow against ATL how they adjusted.

Battier better find his shot tonight!

Cole vs. Chalmers will be very telling tonight since there is no Bron or Wade to make either 1 look good.

Bosh leadership skills are at stake.

Miami might eat that zone up will all these shooters on the floor.

Chucks commentary is a good look I been laughing the whole time ... he said he "ain't a Miami Hawks fan"

They're playing good for now keeping the game close. I wonder if ATL can't get ahead of this team the way it is, how would they fair tonight with Bron & Wade in there. Just a thought. Still a lot of game left though.

The bench will have some great minutes tonight. Hope they work Dexter Pittman on that block.
