Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1, 39KOs), the lightweight world champion of the WBA and the WBO, is going to explore his options for 2012. The Mexican star is looking to have a fourth fight with Manny Pacquiao, the WBO's welterweight champion. If no deal is made for Pacquiao, Marquez is willing to chase a world championship at 140-pounds, but he's not interested in an all-Mexican showdown with Erik Morales. He would rather fight undefeated WBO king Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12KOs).

"My plans are not to retire, and I am focused on the fourth fight against Manny Pacquiao. So far I do not know if it will happen in May or all the way in November. If [the fight] is not made soon, then I look for another great opportunity, like Timothy Bradley, the WBO's junior welterweight champion," Marquez said. "[Morales] is a great fighter, very good, but there are other opponents who are bigger, like Bradley. I want to face the best, and that's what I remember Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns doing."

As previously reported, Marquez refuses to fight Pacquiao in Las Vegas. He would fight the Filipino champion in Mexico or a neutral location like Texas.

"With Pacquiao I said I would fight him, but outside of Las Vegas, where I was robbed [in more than one fight] against him. I doubt he would agreed to come to Mexico, or Azteca Stadium in Mexico. We could fight in Texas. I am able to fill the Azteca, but with prices according to the economy. I still hope to fight for one or two more years. At my age I can not think about continuing to fight for too many years. Boxing is dangerous, and no matter how much money you can win, you won't be able to buy another brain. "

Timothy Bradley Responds To Marquez: I Want The Fight!

By Ryan Burton

Earlier today, BoxingScene.com ran an article by Ernesto Castellanos ( which can be found by CLICKING HERE ) in which three division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez said that he would prefer to face WBO junior welterweight king Tim Bradley instead of fellow Mexican legend Erik Morales - in the event that he is unable to secure a fourth fight against Manny Pacquiao.

Marquez said - "My plans are not to retire, and I am focused on the fourth fight against Manny Pacquiao. So far I do not know if it will happen in May or all the way in November. If [the fight] is not made soon, then I look for another great opportunity, like Timothy Bradley, the WBO's junior welterweight champion. [Morales] is a great fighter, very good, but there are other opponents who are bigger, like Bradley. I want to face the best, and that's what I remember Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns doing."

BoxingScene.com reached out to Bradley to get his thoughts on a potential showdown with Marquez. Bradley, along with Marquez and Miguel Cotto, is also in the running to be Pacquiao's next opponent. Pacquiao would obviously be the most lucrative option for Bradley but if a fight against the Filipino congressman can't be made - then Bradley would love to face Marquez.

"I want to fight Pacquiao but facing Marquez is another fight that I want. That would be a great fight," stated Bradley to BoxingScene.com.

The Palm Springs, California based fighter thinks that a win over Marquez is just the type of win he needs in order to prove that he is worthy of a showdown against the pound for pound king. Bradley already holds wins over Lamont Peterson and Devon Alexander when they were both undefeated. If Bradley adds Marquez's name to his resume, it will be difficult for the 8 division world champion to bypass him for an end of year showdown - assuming that the Filipino doesn't face Floyd Mayweather.

"That is they fight I need to get PacMan," Bradley told BoxingScene. "If I beat Marquez it will show my worth and PacMan will not deny me. And I will beat Marquez."

Bradley ended our conversation with a message for all of the fans. "I want to say Happy Holidays to all of the fans and that I hope to be back in the ring in a big fight soon."

He is thinking of what I said Juan needs to do. He can seriously think he deserves a fourth fight after not getting at least one win in the first three. I said dude has to do something to make him deserve another crack at manny. And that is to fight a champ at 140. Now he is doing it correctly. I know Timmy gets no love, but he is the best at 140. This is a great fight for both fighters. This might make Lamont fight Khan again or be served to Manny. Nice!

JMM should skip another Pac fight nothing to prove the world knows who is the real winner...

Bradley, Khan or Maidana seems good

This is what makes a fighter a legend. Fighting the best. I would love to see him fight Erik. But if you have a chance of fighting a top 10 fighter. You have to take it. I hope this fight can be made. If Juan wins then I would be interested in seeing the fight. Because it would show Juan is hungry not just to beat Manny, but to create an even greater legacy by beating Timmy.

Yeah... Pac is scared anyway. Bradley won't fight Marquez either because he is in line for Pac regardless. Khan might be the best option.

I really like JMM Vs Khan

he would crush him...

I would love to see JMM take Khan to school... but Khan wont take that fight now coming off a loss.. back to back losses would really slow his career down

I see Marquez/Bradley or Marquez/Khan going like Diaz/Marquez I. With the younger fighters making it tough early but Marquez experience and sharp shooting would chop them up late and he could possibly stop either fighter late. Would still love to see either fight though.

Dude's ego is so large that I'm not sure he even realizes he can't beat these guys. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing though.

Marquez/Khan = MAB/Hamed :D

Bradley/Marquez could be like JMM's fight against Casamayor. Timmy could be in for a rude awakening of his skills if he fought Juan. That dude is on another level that few fighters can reach.
