House just got burglarized

sorry to hear that man. Its alot of that shit going on. Do you have an alarm system? I tell my friends it might not prevent a burglary but at least they can't chill in your shit making pancakes, waiting to see if a chick comes home alone to up the charges

This is what scares me

What are the best options in home security?

I want robots on wheels, rolling through the house with uzi's; Remote controlled pit bulls; and invisible laser beams.

damn. niggas came in my mom crib bout 2-3 months ago while they were upstairs asleep. stole her 60' samsung jawn i had just copped her and some jewelry and kicks. found them niggas tho. got EVERYTHING back in 2 days.

good to see you got most of your stuff back.....never know these dudes be watching and waiting to catch somebody slipping:smh::smh::smh:

Damn. Sorry to hear that. Get one of these so you get the punk bitches on cam if it unfortunately happens again.

How did I know it was Atlanta?!? It's a damn shame. When I lived out there this was like an everyday thing. I just don't get why most Kats with the cash don't just invest in a CCTV system. One aimed at the Front of the house and one for the back with motion only detection connected to a dvr system with wifi. Make sure you have a few cameras inside disguised as clocks or dolls. The DVR should be hidden in the attic or ceiling. It's all about identifying the crooks in your hood. I lived in the West End and I photographed the kat that tried to rob my spot, gave the pix to the cops and they got his ass.

y'all niggas out there buyin hot shit better watch it, they givin niggas time for recievin stolen property more than u would think.

it's wild but there's lil niggas gettin more time for stealin than some of the dope boys. that home invasion shit had gotten kinda popular around here @ one point but i think it's slowin down now that cats seein some of these niggas get hit with dinosaur numbers.

question, if u catch someone robbing u and u either shoot or assault them even when they are no longer a threat is that illegal? or is it whatever goes once someone violates your property?

It depends on the state. In Georgia, you must be under threat of bodily harm or death, In Texas, you can shoot to protect property if the deadly force is being used to prevent the consequences of theft at night on your property.

For some reason, the part about Texas is making little sense to me.

Can you break that down?

Sorry to hear that... :(

Stories like this get crazy around Christmas...I grew up off of that street too. Used to didn't be that bad.

Sec. 9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and
(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or
(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and
(3) he reasonably believes that:
(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or
(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

(Nighttime is defined as the period 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise.)

Get you a big dog fam. Niggaz (mainly teenagers) are scared of big dogs. I leave mine in the front yard on a chain. Its hilarious to watch niggas walk by and cross the street while he is at the edge of the drive giving them a stare of death.

Glad you got your stuff back homie.

Alarm + even a small dog will bark his ass off if he hears someone breaking in. Sometimes that's all it takes to deter a fool. Nobody wants to wonder if ur dog woke u up and has u going for the 12 gauge under the bed.

glad to see you got some of your property back. hopefully they didn't take any credit cards, checks or personal information.
around this time a few years back someone broke into my home. credit cards & checks were some of the items stolen. the credit card companies were on top of their shit with cancelling the cards, but discover gave me some problems.
even though i reported it immediately & closed my account, muh'fuckas where using bank of america checks over 2 years later :smh:
boa tried to press legal action against me. i had to repeatedly tell, then show them that i reported this over 2 years ago, it's not my fault someone is still writing checks. people were getting photos from jc penny's portraits & paying their utilities
i have no clue why boa didn't go hard after them. i'll have to pay extra close attention to my credit.

Trash cameras?

Major problem with wireless camera systems is they have to send the signal back to the receiver which in this case is built into the DVR. Wireless works best in a wide open area and with limited amounts of metal and electronics around. You can try it, but I would only buy it if they are going to be in the same room as the DVR.

Oh and you would get a decent picture as long as you can get the set up to work and there is a lot of light.

It's wasn't my thread and I forgot the title of the thread. But I was basically asking for advice because my family house had been broken into. And they had ADT but no back up system. So when the phone cord got cut, it's didn't send a red flag to ADT which is still kind of strange.
nah..if they cut your phone line..hopefully you have cellular backup....it still dials out bro...

Yeah, but they don't mention the back up system, until after your house gets broke into.:smh: Home insurance is important now of days, I don't have a home but I have rental insurance. I pay $190. a year for $10,000 coverage, it went up this year from $175 but it's worth it.
