This is going to be one of the best UFC fights of all time I hope. 2 of the 3 unorthodox fighters in MMA go at it tommorrow. Being unorthodox makes fighters stand out and better from the rest from what I have seen. Also, the rest of the card is good as well.

Even though both fighters are unorthodox I think Jones has this. But one thing is Jone's chin. I am not too up on if his chin is very good or not cause he is usually dishing out the punishment. But I would say he has little speed over Machida. He has the reach over Machida. He has a little power over Machida.

Jones is going to beat the shit out of Machida, g.

^^^^^^

Only way Machida gonna win is if he get a lucky shot in, but it won't happen. Machida's style isn't a longevity/dominating style like wanderlei silva, randy couture, and other champs who held the belt for a while.

Not sure but I can't wait!!

Styles make fights so you never know, since Machida is so unorthodox. You aren't going to train with someone who fights like him.

Hopefully Jones

This is one of the tougher fights to call. Jones has the speed, youth, power, and fanbase on his side. Machida has experience and hunger on his side. Before Shogun knocked him out, there was talks of him running through that division like his friend and training partner, Anderson Silva.

I believe this is a great test for them both. Rampage may have been a former champ but he is a shell of his former self, so I expected Jones to win. Now he is facing a fighter not only in his prime, but coming off of a fight in which he made one of the greatest MMA fighters ever retire.

On the flip side, Machida has to prove that he still can be called one of the toughest Light Heavyweights in the world and what better way to show that then to face the Champion and future of UFC.

My mind is telling me to go with Machida but my gut says that Jon Jones takes this one. Maybe it's just because I want to see Jones/Evans BAD!

I am not totally counting out Machida, Jones is not either. I does seem that people are looking pass Machida's ability. I do think he has the skills to win but his chances are not so good.

Machida is a Karate master. When I was little I thought Karate was the best fighting skill. Machida made me believe that Karate was dominant in MMA for a while. But, his mystery was solved and his stock went down.

If Jones gets on Machida and drops those elbows it's a rap.

Lyoto is very elusive likes to fight from a distance...accurate with his sweeps & strikes...

Karate 101...this fight may be interesting because Jones never fought anyone with Lyoto's style...

I like Jones in this fight the man is damn near unbeatable at LHW...that 84 inch reach & his skillset :itsawrap:

however Lyoto has a slim chance...he will also be very unorthodox like Jones....

I think Jones will dominate, but he must be carefull with the Dragon. Lyoto can strike from some weird angles. Ive always thought it will be a guy whith quick reflex and KO power to make a highlight real out of Jones spinning elbow. I dont think thats going to happen Saturday though.

War Jones!!!

I didn't ccount him out totally, read my post again. the highlighted is why I don't think he will dominate the ufc.

I don't think that's really the case. I honestly believe Machida overlooked Shogun and believe this would be a repeat of the first fight. If people watch his fight against Randy Couture, they would see that Machida was much more aggressive and determined to not only make it his fight but to end it the way that he wanted.

Jones is without a doubt faster but sometimes he fails to realize when someone is baiting him and that could be trouble against an elite counter-striker. As everyone is saying, Jones could have trouble because he has no training partner that could match Machida's fighting style. While I would like to say the same thing when it comes to Machida's training but he trains with the likes of Anderson Silva, Jose Aldo, and Junior dos Santos. If those three can not get him prepared for this fight, then nothing could.

Jones is a physical freak!!! Machida has experience and is hungry, but I don't really see anyone beating Jones at this point, unless he gets cocky and gets caught...

I'm going to have to go with Jones, however as other have stated Machida is no joke with the counter strikes and unorthodox striking. Win, loose, or draw I still want to see Jones v Evans.

White Announces Release of Torres Following 'RapTweet
Bantamweight Miguel Torres has been released by the UFC, according to UFC President Dana White.

White revealed to Sports Illustrated on Thursday that the former World Extreme Cagefighting 135-pound champion wie' ll no longer compete for the world's largest promotion.

“Miguel Torres has been cut from the UFC and his career with us now is over,” White told SI.com.

Known for possessing an active Twitter handle, Torres was released following one particular tweet on Wednesday.

"If a rape van was called a surprise van, more women wouldn't mind going for rides in them," Torres wrote. "Everyone likes surprises."

The news comes on the heels of a pair of controversial comments made by UFC fighters about sexual abuse. Roughly one month ago, former 205-pound champion Forrest Griffin tweeted that “rape was the new missionary.”

According to White and Griffin, the fighter's questionable statement was intended to express his disbelief at how commonplace the crime had become after viewing multiple television media reports on various rape cases. Griffin later apologized for his comment and made a donation to the Las Vegas Rape Crisis Center.

Yesterday, another former UFC light heavyweight champion made a separate controversial remark at the UFC on Fox 2 press conference in Chicago.

Main event competitors Rashad Evans and Phil Davis began trading barbs near the end of the event, each predicting how the fight would go. Evans assured “Mr. Wonderful” that he would beat him up standing, predicting that the former Penn State University wrestler would go to his grappling base to avoid the strikes.

In articulating that point, Evans made a reference to the widely publicized Jerry Sandusky case, in which the former PSU assistant football coach stands accused of sexually abusing multiple underage boys during his time at the institution. “I guarantee you'll be the first one to take a shot, because I’m going to put my hands on you worse than that dude did to them other kids at Penn State,” Evans said.

White said he spoke with Evans after the press conference and the fighter explained his intentions behind the comment.

“Rashad walked me through what he did...Rashad wrestled for Michigan [State]. [Davis] went to Penn State. [Evans] wanted to slam [Davis] and Penn State,” White told SI.com. “Rashad is sorry for what he said. He truly is. He said it in the heat of the moment. He definitely took the wrong choice of words. He knows it, and I know he knows it.”

Regarding Torres' tweet, White said that he did not see the humor in the bantamweight's apparent joke.

“There’s no explanation for that. There’s absolutely nothing I could say to make any sense of that,” White said. “And the fact that he even thinks that’s funny or that’s a joke, it disturbs me. It bothers me.”

Jones should win this fight. Jones about to stop fighters from cutting weight. Cats will just say fuck it....and risk sticking and moving against the heavies. Why cut weight to get your ass beat? That 84-inch reach just isn't fucking fair.
