Im having a discussion with some people on a wrestling forum and the ? came up of which promo is/was more legendary the candidates are

VS

I choose the KOTR promo. After he won KOTR Austin's career took off.

You're right about Punk's promo. Anyone who's not a hardcore fan, that promo wen't right over their head.

First WWE 12 review out, shouts "MUST BUY"

The very first review of WWE 12 is out, and a great news for all fans of the game as the review is a positive one. GamePro Germany is the first one to review WWE 12, and gave "a 90% and a top award".

The reviewer went on to say that its a "must-buy for fans!", further adding, "Due to the improvements, WWE '12 is extraordinarily dynamic and alive."

It seems like WWE 12 is the best game title in WWE franchise. WWE 12 is schedule to launch on November 22.

Hell of a match even though that part made no sense. The ref got out of the way of the bump and hurt his knee.Bullshit.
Personally that would have worked so much better if Roode had beaten Angle, had the belt for awhile beating guys clean and then needed to resort to cheating to beat Storm once Storm finally got his title match.A lenghthy feud starts from that and then Storm becomes World Champ defeating Roode. From that you get 2 certified main eventers, several top PPV matches, possibly the feud of the year, and great storytelling that leads to 2 memorable TNA highlights but God forbid anything overshadow Hulk Hogan and his 10 millionth turn.
That would work but that's too much like wrestling and the swerves are swervy enough. Even with Bruce Pritchard supposedly in charge of booking, I haven't noticed any difference.

I liked what I saw between Mark Henry and Daniel Bryan. They need to build this up until Wrestlemania. Also why can't the WWE learn from what they're doing with Mark Henry. He is over not only because he's done a good job on the mic but because they have done everything in their power to make him look like a badass and a monster who can go head up with anybody. If they had done that with Del Rio and Christian the company would be better off because both would be taken seriously as main eventers.

Yep. Henry's getting to the point where he's getting cheers.

I choose the KOTR promo too but it's not really true that Austin's career took off after the King of the Ring. He went right back to doing Free For All matches on ppvs because that was supposed to be HHH's win. Plus at that time, WCW was kicking the shit out of the WWF so not as many people saw it as the legend has made it seem.
Austin took off with the Bret feud so the more meaningful promo was the one where he called out Bret.
Austin-Hart is a great example of how a main event guy can elevate another guy without putting him over. Now WWE can't even do that.

He was in free for all matches but he became more sadistic and brutal after that speech whereas Punk has basically become a hypocrite.

Man, they sucked all the life out of Punk and gave his anti-authority gimmick to the Miz and made him the number three babyface behind Cena and HHH.

Austin wasn't even on three of the next four ppvs. His big coming out was Survivor Series. He should be sending Bret Hart a percentage of his money to this day because it was Hart who pushed so hard for him upon his return.

I wouldn't go that far because Austin made that feud because if it were anyone else then it wouldn't have been as great. As for Punk that either goes to show how valuable he is to the company, or how much different a couple of more zeros in your paycheck can quell any frustration.

Only further highlights how good Stone Cold was on the mic.

Stone cold was amazing on the mic. The only one who can be mentioned in the same breathe as Stone Cold, as far as the mic is concerned, is The Chosen One, The Peoples Champ...The Rock. Scott Hall, Kevin Nash & Hogan round out my top 5 on the mic.

Give me Jericho over Nash,Hall and Hogan on the mic.And how in the hell do you have them over Ric Flair.:smh: Arn Anderson too.

Wow that interviewer sucked

It sounds like the interviewer got those questions straight from Vince McMahon.
Austin was always good on the mic and particularly towards the end of the first video it definitely came off as something he would have said when he was still going by Stunning Steve Austin.Thing is, Austin was never truly a face at any point in his career.Yes, the fans cheered him but he never behaved a true face and where the WWE has fucked up with Punk is by trying to make him a true face instead of letting him play in the grey area between good and bad and let the fans react as they want which is why the first couple of promos worked and even the first exchanges with Nash and HHH.

1.Flair
2.Rock
3.Dusty
4.Ernie Ladd(Dave how come this man never gets brought up?)
5.Stone Cold(Pre Attitude Era)
5.Piper
6.Hall
7.Slick(Most underrated manager of all time)
8.Hogan
9.Jericho
10.Foley

Austin was great on the mic but 98 saw him come out and basically say "Give me a hell yeah" all the time. If Vince vould do that to Austin then Punk damn sure doesn't stand a chance.

Vince McMahon High On Cody Rhodes

Vince McMahon is said to be high on Cody Rhodes after lacking faith in the second generation wrestler in the past. Reportedly, McMahon would not commit to promoting Rhodes as a top level star because he felt he overacts.

If Vince really fills good about pushing Cody then he needs to stop jobing him out to Orton. Did Cody get a pin win over Orton when he put the bag over his head or was that just a beat down?

I like the alliance between the unmasked Sin Cara & the new Mexican guy. They could be a interesting team. Too bad Rey won't be back anytime soon, shit could have been a great rivalry.

Before Bret got behind Austin, he was stuck feuding with Marc Mero. When Bret got out there on tv saying he was the best in the business and they had that Survivor Series match, he was on his way to main event status. Bret could be a primadonna but he did business the right way with Austin.
They don't want Punk to succeed and if his merch hadn't started selling, he wouldn't be getting pushed now.
As much as they like to recreate old shit, HHH vs Punk could have been the new Austin/McMahon except with the potential of a great blowoff match.
Instead they skip right to the Austin/McMahon alliance which ultimately flopped by making HHH and Punk tag partners.

I don't know how and I feel ashamed for not mentioning him every single time this topic comes up.
You know I got Dusty over Rock. Dusty could literally make you cry.

Just a beatdown. Orton won the first match way back when when Orton was getting ready for Mark Henry but he's been getting his ass handed to him ever since.
I could have sworn they were going to build up the IC title. To me, it seems like as soon as a guy becomes IC champ, he goes on a losing streak.

One of the problems is that WWE does a very poor job of elevating and or maintaing their heels in main event status. Chriistian, Del Rio, Swagger, Cody, Barrett, & even Miz have all been made to look like heels who can't hold their own when it counts against top tier heels. The majority of their heels end up looking like non credible top tier heels.

It's because they refuse to make Cena look weak. What seems to be forgotten is Austin got his ass kicked weekly by Undertaker Rock Kane HHH and he might or might not have won, but they did make it seem like the opposition had a shot. They do a great job of building heels but when it's time to pull the trigger they just have Cena beat them at the horribly named ppv.

I would have to add both Ole and Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Dick Murdoch.

Arn Anderson any promo. He did not huff and puff all the time.

Ole Anderson the best promo ever was the one with his tag partner Thunderbolt Patterson. Very chilling:yes:. Ole was telling how he did not like being a good guy and Arn Anderson reminds him of himself. Also this promo was the beginning of the horseman. Later on that same program. Patterson and Arn had a match and Ole doublecrossed him. Here it is.

Dick Murdoch check this out. Some of his promos in Midsouth/UWF would make you laugh out loud. This is how you draw heat and talk smack. Sure he was a Klansman in real life:eek: but he was a great talent who could work and talk.

Best Tully segment ever. Pimp hand in effect!

Ernie Ladd is how all black wrestlers who wishes to be a great heel strive for. Pure gold. Ernie Ladd was like the first black to be a heel. Bobo was a sometimes heel but Ernie took if full blast.

So no one wan't to comment on this?

Chyna was fuckable back then. Traci is ok, she just needs some work on her face.

Chyna was at her peak in late 99-01 but she fell of dramatically when she hooked up with x-pac. Traci looks great but her playboy spread was disappointing, TNA hyped her up only to find out hefner decided it was web only material:lol:

Exactly and they're doing it right now.Cena calls out and gets The Rock to be his tag partner against R-Truth and The Miz but for 2 weeks straight they've had Cena whoop both of their asses singlehandedly.

I've missed most of Raw but I did notice the lack of consistency. So Otunga is going to comment on how Punk looks like a bum and unfit to be champion when he followed Punk in the Nexus and became tag champ because of Punk.

If they refuse to let Cena get his ass whooped, they should at least have Rock walk out on Cena and cost him the match.

Shit like that hurts them.

Yeah, not having Ole on the list but having Hulk Hogan is a mistake.
In a way it was a precursor to the Horsmen but at the time, Flair was still a babyface in the Carolinas.

Baby Doll took that shot like a man. Long before chicks were getting beat up in ECW, they were getting the shit beat out of them in Crockett, Florida, and Memphis.

Playbody decides to stop doing wrestling spreads after they shoot the Traci pics. What kind of shit is that?

I like Traci but her boobs look better boosted up in a bra, all shiny and shit.

A bit of good news for TNA

TNA IMPACT WRESTLING ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM AT OVW
Focus On Development Key To TNA

NASHVILLE, TN (November 7, 2011) – TNA IMPACT WRESTLING announces that they are entering into an exclusive relationship with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), effective immediately, as the official training and developmental facility for TNA’s current and future stars of TNA IMPACT WRESLTING. Former wrestling star and OVW owner Danny Davis will work closely with TNA SVP of Programming and Talent Relations Bruce Prichard in the development of the talent through training, live events, and weekly television production allowing talent to explore every aspect of the business.

“OVW is the best of the best as far as training and nurturing potential superstars. Their track record speaks for itself. Whether looking to develop brand new talent or to fine tune existing talent, OVW has the talent and program to fit our needs.” says TNA’s Prichard. “TNA is providing developmental talent the opportunity to hone their craft in an environment that will allow them to grow and prosper.”

TNA talent will be arriving soon at the facility to begin an extensive training program with the industry’s leading experts. The program is akin to a college scholarship program where talent is provided a scholarship style agreement with TNA to learn the craft. The talent to attend the program is selected by TNA’s Prichard and TNA officials who will be monitoring the progress of each wrestler at camp and the live events

That's fucking perfect and bringing in Bruce Pritchard has a quick benefit as you know they used his connections with Davis to set this up.
With some of the young guys they have, like Rob Terry and Xima Ion, they have a place for them to work and get better without exposing them too early.

Nash was great in his role last night and was the only highlight on a terrible Raw. BTW way to make your champ look even worse but Punk calling someone else repetitive:confused::lol:
