billions behind bars

:smh::smh::smh:

Saw this on the news...The idea of prison industry being for profit just seems ....wrong! It's like the fox is in charge of the hen house..:confused:

One stat they quoted...and I don't remember exactly, but the state spends $18k to lock up a prisoner vs $3600(?) to educate a kid...

WTF!!!

Check out companies that build prisons and jails. Look at investing in those. That's a good bet.

A chick told me about some 3rd grade test they give in Texas to determine .... how many prison beds they will need in the future

Prison labor is here to undermine the work force in this country.. why don't people see that. Prison labor is the new slave labor

why would a corporation pay you 50k a yr when they can pay prisoners to do the same work for $2 a day.

When I heard the amount they make I was like damn. And like you said, it does undermine the workforce in this country.

And I'm shocked at what all is made/done in Prison....I just thought they did license plates. I'm not sure if they still do this, but at one time, when you called places like Sears and JCP to place catalog orders, that's where those calls were being handled.

Truly a billion dollar industry.
