Golden Globes 2012: Wins for Grammer and Idris Elba,

Golden Globe awards for Idris Elba and Kelsey Grammer were two of the biggest surprises at Sunday’s presentation, writes Post Celebritology blogger Jen Chaney.

For Elba, who won for best actor in a mini-series or TV movie for his performance in “Luther,” Chaney says:

With William Hurt and “Downton Abbey’s” Hugh Bonneville in the same category, the actor formerly known as Stringer Bell didn’t seem like a sure thing. But he managed to win, bringing him to the stage where he could accept his Globe and make female viewers swoon, just as nature intended.

Idris Elba Confirms 'Thor 2' Return, Is An 'Avengers' Cameo On The Way?

After winning a Golden Globe for his starring role on "Luther," Idris Elba is finally getting the official recognition he's deserved ever since his days on "The Wire." It's finally safe to say that keeping busy won't be a problem.

Speaking to MTV News, Elba talked about his upcoming involvement with the Marvel Universe -- in case you forgot, he played the Norse god Heimdall in "Thor." According to him, a return to Asgard will happen with "Thor 2," if not sooner.

"'Thor 2' for sure," he told us. "'Avengers,' we're not sure about, but 'Thor 2' we're going at it again."

Is it possible that Elba has filmed material for Joss Whedon's ensemble blockbuster, but isn't sure whether or not any of the material will be kept in the theatrical release? Conjecture for now, but if he did film something for "Avengers," the director's cut DVD will be something to look out for.

More concrete is his role in "Pacific Rim," the newest movie by Guillermo del Toro and as straighforward of a sci-fi concept as it gets: giant robots fighting giant monsters. It's currently filming in Toronto, and Elba is one of its big stars.

"I'm going back tomorrow morning. I've been there for five months," he said. "I love it. Guillermo's a genius, and the film we're making is a huge film, bad monster movie and robots and me."

In case you can't wait for more Elba, a third series of "Luther" is forthcoming, and he'll also appear in this year's "Prometheus" and "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance." You can also go back and rewatch "The Wire," in case you haven't done it once or twice or seventeen times before.

Anybody know a sista like DS Gray? You know, the chick who is so concerned about her job that she seems like she's ready to sell you down the river? She's one of those "rules over results" types. She's so scared she's gonna get in trouble. Bitch went and snitched on Luther. It was cool how Ripley ran interference for Luther and then at the end, she realized why he did. The writers kinda put sistas on blast by creating a character like that. I know a few sistas who would stop watching the show over her. :D:yes:

hated that bitch.... she was cute but she was more concerned with luther than doing her damn job... every case she was pretty much worthless... luther never really knew or cared she was keeping an eye on him... too busy working to worry about it... when she got in trouble and came out the office mad yelling at everyone (cuz the partner pulled an okey doke on her) and luther and the crew was like :smh::confused::smh: wtf is she talking about....

that shyt had me dying :lol::lol:

nah they threw shorty's character under the bus.... 99% of sisters would be bringing him lunch and throwing him the drawers... dude is like a superstar detective at work... and he was getting protected from above... either she was a fool or extra salty

she just looked real bitter tryin to break his balls... they did the same thing with the dexter cop... which is one of the reasons that show didn't work for me...

No way man... Doakes wasn't salty for no reason. He sensed something was amiss with Dexter and he was right. Dexter even gave him grudging props... noting that in a dept full of cops who should be able to sniff out fuckery Doakes was the only one that knew there was something off about him.
