Connecticut toddler dies after pit bull attack: police

CONWAY, Mass (Reuters) - A 20-month-old girl died after being attacked by as many as three pit bulls Friday evening inside an apartment house in West Haven, Connecticut, police said on Saturday.

After a neighbor from downstairs called police, officers and paramedics arrived at the top-floor apartment at about 6:13 p.m. Friday and found the toddler on the floor, bleeding and unconscious, said West Haven Police Officer Bret Schneider.

She was rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, he said. West Haven is located a few miles south of New Haven on the central Connecticut coast.

After people in the home had locked the dogs in another room, police managed to subdue and remove them from the three-story building. The dogs were then euthanized.

This is what killed me about the whole Mike Vick thing. I don't remember in person, ever seeing a CAC with a pit as a pet, I only ever see brothers and latinos walking down the block with as many as 3 or 4 pits. I can sit here and be on repeat but it won't matter. I have had quite a few pitbulls in my life, still do and NEVER had any problems. Pull up every single case and I bet you it was either in the hood or they didn't train/raise the dog correctly. Pitbulls have the type of mindset in which they learn whatever they see and never forget it. Let's not forget that they had THREE in an apartment house. That shit is bound to happen to a dog of high-energy such as pits, labs, etc. If they don't exercise and burn that shit off, they can get EASILY pissed off in small places like that...
