My whole problem with Rock Vs Cena is the fact that it just seems like a cheap way just to get everyone to buy WM (Fllyod Mayweather Jr ring a bell?) The Rock did nothing leading to him getting a title shot at a WM a year from now, and even as a Cena fan it cheapens it to know that around Elimination Chamber Cena will win the title back.

The Rock vs Cena should be treated like Rock vs Hogan just a sideshow like the past Taker matches have been. Guys like Punk have busted their ass all year and should be champ or fighting for the title at WM.

Pro Wrestling is all about money and the fact is Rock vs Cena will put asses in the seat and buys on the tv. They might not have a title match as they could just drop that angle all together, but even if they do it really shouldn't matter because for a few years now the title has been secondary when it comes to mania. And say what you want but Mayweather actually ended up being a really good highlight for Mania.

Not really. Hardcores understand the deeper meanings but he put them in a way that casual fans understood.

I agree but there's a price that comes with that and for Rock, it will be that some guys don't see you as one of "the boys" anymore. It's not all on Rock, like I've said, WWE let him bury Cena with Cena getting very little heat back.

I still believe Vince overestimated Cena's star power against Rock. When Rock and Punk have their eventual showdown im betting people expect Punk to chew him up on the mic, but imo Punk's weakness is when he is put up against someone else who can hold their own on the mic. Cena reverted to gay jokes and lame humor and was outclassed by Rock and it's not even close, Punk will try to make fun of Rock doing the baby talk but what happens when Rock comes at him like he did Cena in the 11min killshot? The only people who can hang with Rock imo is SCSA Jericho Foley and for nostalgia 96-98 Scott Hall and Hogan.

You're right Vince does overstimate Cena's star power. It's not big enough to match the Rock's and I don't think that it's big enough to match Austin or Hogan's either or Flair's if Flair had stayed away following the retirement match.
I think that Punk would do better on the mic against the Rock than anybody else currently in the company because to me it seems like he's a smartass so he can riff against somebody else.If nothing else he would do a hell of alot better than Cena who decided that he needed to play a character to go up against the Rock verbally. To anybody who disagrees just watch how in that first promo he had to practice his rapper voice before he started talking his shit.At least would come at things from his point of view and hopefully not motivated by character. If you peep twitter he,SCSA and Jericho go at it pretty frequently and it's entertaining.

I agree Punk would do better, but if you see what people write in other forums they make it seem like Punk would have him curled up in the corner. What people forget is how these guys got noticed in the first place, if you look at old SCSA videos before the beer took away his voice he and pillman were golden. Jericho wasn't afraid of anyone and could have the whole arena buzzing just after saying ass clown. Foley seemed genuine whenever he spoke and came off believable and somewhat deranged. Punk is great when he doesn't get too insider or smartass, but when he does he comes off like a little brat and fans kind of cool on him during the promo. Punk had fans cheering him last monday but so did HHH who when he's not in "Hunter" mode can talk with the best of them. I know he got cheered when he said it but last monday was not the time to go back to the ice cream bars reference, the promo itself really dragged until the final 3 minutes and felt like one big rehash.

I think that other than Flair Punk is the top promo guy currently active. That said Rock is one of the top 5 guys in wrestling history.I didn't see Raw last week so I can't comment.I don't mind the insider references probably cause I understand them. And the thing that I've liked about the Punk-HHH interactions is that when it seems like they aren't going off script and just reacting to what the other says they do a great job of getting a comeback line in and while it has been mentioned how HHH didn't get and wasn't a fan of Punk I'm sure that he understands now.

First time I'm hearing of it so I vote angle. Looks like Hulk/Sting is off for BFG but I haven't heard or seen anything that says they're leaving. We'll see but word is Bischoff is in good with Spike TV management.

plus hogan appears to be too busy w/ that MicroChampionship Wrestling thing(anyone see that bs on truTV last wednesday? )

No, was it good funny or sad funny?

I understand the references too it's just that i don't need to hear them in every promo, i mean let's be real does anyone hear care that Gallows and Cabana were fired? As for this past week trust me when i say it was one of the worst Raws ever, Bret Hart can't speak "Stubstance" and Cena is intent on making tatu a nickname for Ricardo Rodriguez.

Edit: After watching Floyd's post fight interview i want to see him and Punk go 1 on 1 on the mic:lol:

Personally while I understand why they fired them I think that both should still be with the company.Gallows is a big man who can go in the ring and is only like 25 years old or so,surprisingly enough and Cabana can wrestle,is a solid promo and has tons of personality. His failure was the result to them giving him a shitty name(Scotty Goldman),no real character, arch or development.Hell they threw him out there to job and unlike Colin Delaney it wasn't done in a way that progressed anywhere. If nothing else he would have been great as a comedy guy on the show but at least he could have announced.
One of Cena's main problems is the juvenile humor which neither he nor the company has figured out does nothing.A couple of kids laugh but the majority of the audience hates it and it buries the opposition more than it helps. And not only that but they tried the same thing with John Morrison and it fell completely flat. The difference between him and Cena on that is that Cena was already over and had shown he was good on the mic when he started the crap and Morrison is trying to show that he can cut a decent promo when he started with it.Hell if it was funny it might even help.He should leave the name calling to people better suited to do it like Chris Jericho. And at this point either you're going to get juvenile, bad standup John Cena or sermonizing, preacher John Cena.

Anybody know where to watch a live stream of Night of Champions tonight? I need to get the stink of that Mayweather fight from last night out of my head.

Having celebs in wrestling isn't new and was done while Vince was still living in NC and there were three Ws in WWWF, so I have no beef with them doing business like that. I'm even over them having wrestlers do jobs to celebs (mostly). But, and I hope you're right about them dropping it, considering how shallow they are, they need two World title matches at Mania.

While entertaining, Rock shooting interviews on the internet is bullshit because you know Cena can't retaliate in the same manner.
As for who could hang with Rock, he's no higher than the third or fourth best promo in the history of the business and definitely in the last 30 years (if that). Flair and Dusty will always be above him and guys like Ole Anderson, Ernie Ladd, Arn Anderson, and Mick Foley are at least on his level. Jericho really put himself on that elite level in this last run in WWE.

How they missed on Colt Cabana and Luke Gallows is a huge mystery.

They did the same thing with Morrison they did with Cena: turned him face for no reason and instantly when from a kick ass, shit talking heel to a smiling, hi-fiving babyface and took his edge. Unlike Morrison, Cena's a big muscular guy who can lift trucks and doesn't start shit backstage with his girlfriend.
Cena was cutting good promos against Punk and cuts a good fired up (shout out to Tommy Rich) babyface promo when motivated but he switches back to the bullshit and loses any fans that he might pick up.

VIDEO: THE COMPLETE KEVIN STEEN INVASION FROM LAST NIGHT'S ROH iPPV, INCLUDING FOOTAGE OF STEEN GETTING INTO IT BEFORE THE SHOW WITH ROH EXEC

I heard about what happened with him and I know most of the results from the show short of the ladder war.I can't wait to watch it after this download finishes but ROH is showing how to run a long term angle. In thinking about it I think that part of what helps them is that they don't do PPV's every month so they really have the benefit of allowing a story to be told with rushing it.If anything they occasionally take too long on some stuff such as Davey Richards and Tyler Black's title reigns rather than rushing through things.

How they missed on Colt Cabana and Luke Gallows is a huge mystery.

Simple the WWE has bullshit people in creative.Instead of hiring guys with a wrestling background or who at least are wrestling fans they would rather have their product written by people who are legitimate writers but not wrestling fans meaning that these guys have no idea as to what has worked in the past in terms of getting guys over or storylines.Zach Ryder is a great example they brought him back up in ECW and he did well and then they moved him to Raw and did nothing with him.And they give him a push now because of the popularity of his Youtube videos which he did himself not because the writers have the know-how or want to find something for him.As a matter of fact,he and Curt Hawkins should or would have been gone years go but the 2 of them came up with the Edgeheads idea not creative.

If they did the writers would learn from the example of Hulk Hogan. The reason why he was on top for so long without the huge backlash is because he was allowed to look vulnerable. At some point in the feud Hogan would always get destroyed and left for dead allowing for doubt from the fans and when he eventually overcame the odds it meant something and the heel was still strong at the end of it.By the way if the WWE has sense they will put the belt on Mark Henry for very much the same reason cause it would allow Henry to stay at the top afterwards with obvious feuds with Sheamus,Kane and Big Show that could be near the top of the card and make Orton look stronger at the end as well.

He has the worst entrance music I have ever heard in my life, but damn it, Mark Henry is your NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!

I'm glad to hear that but how long will they keep the title around his waist ???? I hope they don't do Henry like they did Christian.

But 15 years ???? Hell he deserved a title reign.

I don't think anyone really cares about the bathroom break championship.

Though this is actually a good match....i'm surprised.

Edit: BOOOOOOOOOOOO WWE!

I normally don't but Kelly is just so wack to me and I would much rather Beth had won tonight since she's the better wrestler and it is her hometown.

Cena wins again....what else is new? He's close to putting up Ric Flair numbers in terms of championship wins...

They finally did something right.

And then they fuck it up by putting the title right back on Cena who doesn't need the belt at all.

So they brought Punk back after a weeks absence so he and Cena can face off and then they let Punk beat Cena who had his foot on the rope by the way so it wasn't a clean win so that Nash could show up so that Del Rio could cash in Money in the Bank so they could put the belt back on Cena a month later.:smh: And they wonder why people are sick of him and question the product.

they don't care about that shit in WWE anymore, there was a time when they thought Triple H was going to break Flair's championship reigns.
