WWF Taz > TNA Taz? Yeah, I agree. Of course he had better material to work with on SD than he often does on Impact! and that makes a difference (see Ross and Schiavone when they have good material and how they suffer/ed when they don't). But TNA Taz is still > than Lawler and Josh Matthews (who could be good but he's picked up Coles bad habits).
That Stratford guy they used on Superstars is really good and I hate how they shit on Matt Striker (I know he talks too much but when he's good, he's great).

I used to laugh my ass off during WCW ppvs and Nitros when Schiavone, Heenan, and Dusty used to call the matches. But, enjoying it as I was, I missed Ventura. Heenan was a noticeable step down from Jesse and I can separate the nostalgia of Bobby "The Brain" from his actual ability as a color guy.

I have never liked Cole because even when he tries to be serious you can tell he's TRYING to be serious. His only good moment for me was the ass whipping SCSA gave him back in 2001, Striker comes of very articulate but his constant talking does hurt him even though he made Booker T rumble return sound Great. Ventura was damn good and he and Monsoon were perfect and WM3 showcased how great Ventura could be in big time situations. The ultimate nightmare commentary team for me would have to be a 3 man booth featuring Cole Tenay and West:smh:

I thought Cole and Taz brought out the best in each other and the brief time Ross worked with Mick Foley, they sounded good.

That is a nightmare team but, in defense of West, Don got a lot better as time went on and was pretty good when he went "heel".
My ultimate nightmare combo would be Cole (as he has been for the last year), McMahon (as he was in the 80s/90s), and David Crockett. You think West was bad, Crockett was horrible and really only had the job because his family owned the promotion.

The best team for me was either Schiavone and Ventura or the few times Ross worked with Gordon Solie.

I watch Primetime Wrestling on WWE's channel just for the interactions between Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan...ALWAYS crackin me up

Their interactions on Primetime were classic.

"Leaping" Lanny Poffo vs. the notorious Mr. X. I miss jobber squash matches.

Did that Tito/Orton match go down as one of the greatest of all time?

Im officially done with CM Punk. HHH countered everything he said and Punk once again brought up insider references that the majority won't get or care about. I think my main issue with Punk is he's an offensive fighter, he can talk shit but when he gets called out he goes into brat mode. Last week when miz made fun of his vomiting joke that bombed Punk started acting like a brat as if he couldn't believe he was being criticized. I have though finally figured out what Punk is, he's the losers favorite basically he's the runner up champ. He represents all the failures in the world who couldn't make the football or basketball team, he represents the people who got passed up for a promotion at work and he represents the people who blame everyone but themselves when things go wrong.

Cena and Punk have the most annoying fanbases but i can understand when Cena's fans whine because they're only kids, but Punks main fans are douche bags who have to believe they're better than everyone else even though their very insecure. Think about it what superstar ever had a shirt that said best in the world? what star ever gave a damn about other peoples opinions? Im not sure if HHH speech was scripted but when he brought up how Punk cared too much about his opinion he was dead on. Punk keeps saying he doesn't give a damn, but he always brings up how HHH doesn't like him. I know it's all storyline but your fanbase does speak to who you are or what you represent.

I noticed everything was all good with Punk with you until he started shitting on "Dwayne". I could be wrong but I thought the whole dialogue in wrestling was written? When I read yor posts on Punk its like you think this shit is real. I think there is some truth in your post but I disagree about fans not knowing "insider" shit he was talking. Maybe those Cena children don't know but the majority of fans know what Punk is talking about. You can hear it in their reaction. Most fans that attend events are die hard and go to sites like NOdq to get their information.

I liked that whole exchange between HHH and Punk because they spoke real shit. To me anyway. HHH spoke real shit about Punk and vice versa. It wasn't one-sided like that whole Kevin Nash and Punk exchange.

On this I disagree. I think WWE, even in 2011, has the least amount of "smart mark" fans of any big company. They have a lot of us (honestly, we're all smart marks) just because the company's so big but unlike TNA and ROH, we're in the slim minority. Punk's best promos are when he goes a little inside ("Hey Colt Cabana! How you doing?") but keeps it general enough for fans to understand (who doesn't understand a guy saying he's not appreciated at his job even though he's fucking awesome?).

So much wrong here. For starters i was never a huge Punk fan but i thought his first "worked shoot" was great, however if you read my past post i've always maintained that if he kept it up he would become stale. My problem with them attacking Rock is not because of Rock himself but what he represents, i hate how we finally have a success story in wrestling but the wrestlers themselves come off as bitter and angry towards him instead of celebrating the fact that another one of them didn't end up broke or dead. Punk's not just spouting scripts here because the story of him and HHH has been around since 06. The reason why they can make this work is because they are incorporating real life stuff into this storyline. What always gets me is how people just see wrestlers as entertainers and not as real people who have real life issues, they don't all go out for drinks afterwards as some really can't stand each other.

I have been very fair in my criticism of Punk imo his character comes off like a hypocrite, i mean in 1 promo he trashes the fans and says they're just as much of the problem and then the next promo he's speaking for the fans:confused:I feel that they screwed the pooch by hyping his farewell and then bringing him back a week later, that to me started the downturn of this angle and now they're doing whatever they can to resurrect it. When it comes to wrestling it's best if you think everything is fake, because when you start to hear the inside stories you find out that the ones who were best friends on tv hated each others guts and this wrestler stole another wrestlers girlfriend/wife(Benoit/Sullivan).

While I disagree that anyone is hating on Rock for his out of the ring success, I agree with the rest of this. Some of the best angles and feuds are the ones with some semblance of reality, even if there isn't any real heat among the guys.

I'm not confused by that at all. He started as a heel and then they changed him to a face so he had to make an adjustment. If the company wanted him to stay heel, he could have done it easily.
Oh God, yes, they fucked it up by bringing him back so soon but I think it lost steam right after SummerSlam when he went off to feud with Nash (who was a midcarder in TNA) while Cena, who lost both matches, went on to wrestle for the WWE title. To many fans, it's starting to look like the same old shit.

That's the problem they made him face but if he had the balls to say no to it and flex what muscle he thought he had then this wouldn't be an issue. I mainly just view punk as a j.a.g(just another guy)now so his whole change mantra just feels hollow now, he got more money and he fell right in line:smh:

As far as Rock goes it seems like the only people who speak positively about him are Jericho & Foley, 2 guys who have had success outside of the business.

Balls? Okay, now you're just being crazy. He works for them. It's either Vince's way or the highway and that applies to everyone. The one time it didn't (when the Kliq was going crazy) business was in the toilet.

Two guys that came up with him and worked with him a lot. He's one of them. Punk and Orton are of Cena's generation and they're doing the right thing in defending their guy. As far as Cena goes, that was all Vince.

NoDQ.com > WWE > Matt Hardy's DWI Police Report Now Online
Posted by Dave Mitchell on 09/14/2011 at 07:35 PM

As reported earlier, former WWE and TNA wrestler Matt Hardy was arrested at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport once again this week in North Carolina and charged with DWI (Driving While Intoxicated).

TMZ.com has published the police report (.PDF) from Matt Hardy's arrest and the details are disturbing to say the least.

Matt Hardy was at the airport on Monday afternoon when police received several phone calls from concerned drivers who said Matt's car "almost hit two drivers three separate times."

When an airport police officer spotted Hardy, the wrestler's car, "swerved into the curb and then back onto the road."

Once Hardy was pulled over, the officer claims Hardy was asked to step out of the vehicle. Matt proceeded to open his door and get out of the car - without putting the car in park. The police report reads, "The vehicle rolled forward and I yelled for him to put the vehicle in park."

Matt Hardy was observed to have "slow and slurred speech, sleepy eyes and a very lackadaisical demeanor."

Hardy was asked to walk in a straight line but - "after taking two steps, Mr. Hardy lost his balance and failed to stay on the line." He was given a second chance but only made it "two or three steps" before failing to remain "heel-to-toe" and lost his balance again. Hardy took another field sobriety test where he had to stand on one leg. "He was unable to hold his leg up past 1 second."

Hardy took a breathalyzer test - which showed that he had zero alcohol in his system.

Cops then called in a "Drug Recognition Officer" to perform even more tests - and they determined Hardy was under the influence of "Central Nervous System depressants" and arrested him on the spot. Hardy's blood was taken for drug testing - and those results are not in as of this writing.

Hardy is due back in court [for this offense] on November 30th.

Shortly after the arrest, Matt Hardy's girlfriend Reby Sky tweeted, "F*ck this."

Matt Hardy's not even funny anymore. He's moving ahead of Scott Hall on the list. You know what list.

All he does is prove that the WWE was right in getting rid of him.

You forgot Austin was someone who did what he wanted once he became invincible. Rock Jericho Foley and to a lesser degree Taker are the only ones who didn't mind putting people over and going along with the story. Punk is not invincible yet and when he signed on the dotted line he became rich but also a puppet. Cena is invincible but who is he putting over? To me he is still the albatross because he could've built up so many wrestlers that we wouldn't be depending on attitude era stars and worked shoots to boost ratings.

You know you're fucked up when TNA fires you over conduct.

Austin sat through the Ringmaster and didn't get a push as "Stone Cold" until Bret got behind him. Rock, Jericho, and Foley were allowed to get their ideas across but they only did what they were allowed to do. When it was decided they were going heel or face, they did it. When Steve didn't want to do what they wanted him to, he left. He chose "the highway".
Cena put Punk over, twice and like Flair doing it for Jay Lethal in TNA, it meant nothing because the followup was horrible.
Nothing about Cena suggests he's against putting people over. He does what they tell him to do. This is the new generation of guy who have never been anywhere and have worked almost exclusively for WWE. They don't have the world wide, well traveled experience to do and suggest different things. Put Cena in with a guy like Punk and he shines because Punk brings him up.
Take that and a current Creative staff that is clueless and you have the show they have now: some good stuff every now and then but pretty bland most shows.

First off your TNA comment:lol:

I think Cena put Punk over 1 1/2 because that foot on the rope finish at SS was a joke, plus Punk's match this sunday is going to be his biggest because what happens afterwards will go a long way in determining his path for next year. You brought up Austin leaving and that is a sore spot with me because i still don't understand why wrestlers treat him like a God when he pulled that. You brought up the difference between the older generation respecting the Rock because they came up with him, but why is it the new generation rallies behind Austin even though they didn't come up with him?

I can agree with that. But he converted a lot of the more casual fans with his first set of promos.

Austin is still there. He left but everybody leaves. Every top guy ends up falling out with Vince and coming back. You know Hulk will be back before it's all said and done. Rock just got back and then he left again. When you're a guy who works the road and every ppv, you might (not being one I'm speculating) feel irritated by the way the company brings him in and lets him run over the face of the company. It's one thing to do it to Billy Gunn but to do it to the guy some of us have and will want to work with later might piss me off.
I didn't have a problem with the finish to the SS match (still not Cena's fault) if it led to a big 3rd match. It didn't and that's one of the biggest ball-droppings since the Invasion.

I don't know about that because he basically bitched about stuff that only the hardcore fans really cared about.

Rock left again because unlike Austin he does have a very successful movie career, after watching Bret this past monday i prefer Rock just make sporadic appearances because all the nostalgia from Hart has worn off and now he just seems like an old man. Whenever the glass breaks there's no longer a monster pop like the one he got at No Way Out back in 03, and i think it's best if legends only show up once or twice a year.

Rock and Cena to team at Survivor Series??!! Interesting.

Not really. Hardcores understand the deeper meanings but he put them in a way that casual fans understood.

I agree but there's a price that comes with that and for Rock, it will be that some guys don't see you as one of "the boys" anymore. It's not all on Rock, like I've said, WWE let him bury Cena with Cena getting very little heat back.

My whole problem with Rock Vs Cena is the fact that it just seems like a cheap way just to get everyone to buy WM (Fllyod Mayweather Jr ring a bell?) The Rock did nothing leading to him getting a title shot at a WM a year from now, and even as a Cena fan it cheapens it to know that around Elimination Chamber Cena will win the title back.

The Rock vs Cena should be treated like Rock vs Hogan just a sideshow like the past Taker matches have been. Guys like Punk have busted their ass all year and should be champ or fighting for the title at WM.

Yep. I don't mind a Rock/Cena matchup but why make it a title match? You can have that match plus a WWE title match and a World title match and, probably, an Undertaker match (I'm in the minority but I think Taker should lose at Mania this year but only if they match him up with a young guy).

There's an excellent ROH iPPV tonight that I guarantee will outshine Night of Champions tomorrow

Ring of Honor will return to Internet PPV THIS Saturday 9/17 from The Manhattan Center in New York City, with the following scheduled lineup for their ninth annual Death Before Dishonor event:

*Eddie Edwards vs. Roderick Strong with Truth Martini in a "Ringmaster Challenge" - First fall is pinfall only. Second fall is submissions only. If necessary, the third fall is a 15 minute Iron Man Match.

*ROH Tag Team champion Shelton Benjamin vs. Prodigy Mike Bennett.

*The Briscoes vs. The All Night Express- Ladder War III for ROH Tag Team title shot.

*ROH Tag Team champion Charlie Haas vs. Michael Elgin.

*Steve Corino vs. El Generico.

*The Bravados vs. Future Shock vs. The Young Bucks.

*El Generico vs. Jimmy Jacobs (with Steve Corino).

*Jay Lethal & Homicide vs. Rhino & Tommaso Ciampa.

Kevin Steen has stated he will be in the crowd at the event.

Fuck Punk, Kevin Steen's shit in ROH is the best angle in the business. He's even "hacked" their website to announce that he'll be at the ippv tonight.

I get why the WWE is doing it.Again short term, money motivated thinking but I personally think that it would be getter to hold the Rock away from an actual match til Mania.About the only good that could come is a rub for somebody young.
I was wondering when Hero and Castagnoli would show up and what shitty name they would get though Antonio Cesaro is better than most of the crappy names they have come up with(i.e. Seth Rollins,Michael McGillicutty,Husky Harris). I can't wait to see Hero and Castagnoli and Rollins on the main roster because they are very talented and give a good match.

That is a match that does not need a title on the line.First of all it's not going to get anybody who wouldn't already buy the PPV for the match to buy the PPV.And secondly it makes the match too predictable.

Fuck Punk, Kevin Steen's shit in ROH is the best angle in the business. He's even "hacked" their website to announce that he'll be at the ippv tonight.
This show has the makings of a very good show and yet it still feels like a letdown from most of their PPV's which is a reflection of how good their IPPV's are.ROH does a great job of getting guys over initially so I'm interested in seeing what they do with Elgin and the Bravados in particular.
The Steen storyline is awesome and it's awesome for the amount of time they've put into it.This has gone on for damn near 2 years and he's been "banned" for the better part of a year. It's working for the exact reason that the Punk storyline ended up not fully working cause they put in the time to let things flow and get to the point where as a fan you're wondering what's going to happen next with him.

They can but will they get the time and will they be pushed correctly. The list of good wrestlers the current WWE regime has fucked up on is longer than the ones they hit with.

Jesse Ventura is the best color guy of all time!

Nah. I grew up with it from the 80's till now. I just was never a real fan of Tazz doing the play by play. JR is the greatest to me. I like Jerry Lawler when he was a heel. I like Tony Schiavone as well.

Tazz started off rough but he really improved and was, and still is almost by default, the best in the business right now.
Lawler was good for a while but he's been horrible a lot longer than he was good. I thought he was dragging down JR for the longest time.
Schiavone, when he was motivated and into it, was one of the best but when WCW went to shit and he didn't give a fuck anymore, it showed.

They can but will they get the time and will they be pushed correctly. The list of good wrestlers the current WWE regime has fucked up on is longer than the ones they hit with.

I'm surprised ROH champ Davey Richards isn't on the show but it will still be good to great.
I'm interested in seeing how they are presented.I guess this means that maybe Hero and Castagnoli aren't used initially as a tag though Hero may show up in a couple of days or so.I'm sure that Hero will be a heel but I'm not sure how Castagnoli and Rollins will be used. The only one that I'm sure will be successful is Castagnoli cause he fits the WWE mold the most and he's good so he'll be okay.Hero needs time to get over be it in ring or on the mic and Rollins needs an in ring push to get over and I want to see what they do cause I thought Colt Cabana was a slam dunk and we saw how that went.

Richards cut a promo on the videowire saying that he would be on tour in Japan so that is why he's not on the show and there will be no title defenses on it.I'm interested on seeing if Lethal is shown as the TV champ since he won the title as one of their TV tapings. Also a title match isn't necessary with the strength of the overall card and with a ladder war match which I'm sure will be great, the Strong-Edwards match and Princess Mia will be there to turn heads.

Didn't know, thanks.

anybody know of a stream for ROH? I've never seen one and would like to check it out

No streams that I know of and if you want the IPPV can be purchased on Go Fight Live for about 15 bucks.

Now knowing that this is BGOL and that shit ain't really what you're looking for check out www.fight-bb.comThey have the latest TNA and WWE shows and PPV's and they also have stuff from Japan,PWG,Chikara and ROH for download. And chances are that sometime tomorrow they'll have the ROH PPV up.My only problem is that sometimes the audio sync is off.
