JERRY RICE: Moss' Laziness A Slap In The Face

Rasheed Wallace didn't perform anywhere close to Moss' level, nor play as high a percentage of his teams' games.

Moss missed just 6 games in 13 years. He played 11 FULL 16-game seasons out of 13.

Were did I compare them performance wise?,other than their attitudes towards the media and the rest of the stuff that comes along with being a pro-entertainr?.They both hung-up their shoes on their own terms, something Jerry had a hardtime doing.Thats it

*pulls out blunt repellet*

Shut the fuck up dumb bitch.

If Rice says you're lazy, then your fuckin lazy.

I bet Jerry wishes he didn't have to block or run out every play even though the ball wasn't coming to him.

He didn't. EVERY receiver takes plays off in one fashion or another. Would be silly if they didn't. Some just get watched more closely based on reputation (real or imagined).

you cats need to ignore "Sports Blunt"...:smh::hmm:

this cat is trying to downgrade the greatest WR & probably the greatest football player of all time just to disagree....as always...on the nuts of any Boston team...now your an Ocho fan my dude?

T.O himself said he learned his work ethic from Rice....

like JD said if that man says you lazy...YOU'RE LAZY....

Rice needs to sit down. He just said the same shit about Ochocinco. EVERYONE's an UNDERachiever 'cept for him.

Um...yeah you re criticizing Jerry Rice......

You definitely need a can of "Sit yo ass down and STFU"

You know not ....what you are talking about.....

Rice is downgrading himself, by acting "petty" and talking shit when he doesn't need to. Fool. No one's challenging Rice's career or effort. That's HIM. He knows nothing about anyone else, and the accomplishments of those he's trashing contradict his stereotypical opinions.

Ain't u same dude that sat on a stool and ur feet weren't touching the ground....sorry to break it to u hommie ur the lil nigga here...if those WR caught most those passes and not tip the ball he wouldn't lead the league in INT

Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk

it was a big stool.

and i don't give a fuck. he lead the league in INT's.

and he will do it again this year.

oh and LIKE I SAID i wish i would have JOE MONTANA AND STEVE YOUNG THROW ME THE BALL.

Irvin was a physical WR like T.O or A. Johnson...he changed the game as well....

next the Cowboys would have not won all those rings w/o him....he's not the caliber of player Rice was NO ONE IS...but Irvin deserves his credit.....

Steve Bono
Elvis Grbac
Jeff Garcia
Rick Mirer
Rich Gannon
Jeff Kemp
Jim Drukenmiller
Steve Stenstrom

were also Jerry's quarterbacks, but people don't talk about that.

WTF??? Totally irrelevant compared to the majority of his career. And btw, Garcia and Gannon were Pro Bowlers (and Gannon an All-Pro). Rice had Montana from Day One.

As a Moss stanley even I can't deny at times he did not give it 100%

Lol/smh/disgustya @ anyone trying to throw salt at the goat WR

Exactly and Tom Brady wasn t as good as Montana or Young...

In a league that isn t as good as the one that Montana and Young played in....the corners aren t as good...the rules make it so there basically is no bump and run.....and QBsd were getting murdered back then

You cant even breathe on brady without a flag....there is no comparison

so the giants didn't smash brady?

What the hell are you guys arguing about?

The word is out on Moss and has been for a long time. CB who play against him call him a slouch. As great as he was, as dominant as he was, he took games off and practices off whenever he felt like it. Moss himself is on record as saying he only plays when he wants to play.

Rice didnt reveal anything new. There was nothing surprising there. Rice isnt even going by his own golden standard, he is going by the NFL community's standards.

Sez who??? Name the top receivers on his 3 Super Bowl teams. Any of them on Jerry Rice's level??

lol...this is why this convo is so funny....

You guys think the QB position...hell the receiver position is simply QB and Receiver...

its rules...like roughing the passer..illegal contact...bullshit like that that makes it hella easier to pass in this league than the Montana and young...

Its the simple fuckin fact that Montana had a running back....and running game....

meanwhile in NE passing is about 100% of the time....so of course Brady;s numbers are good...

but the two leagues are different...its harder for a QB in Rice and young's time then punk ass Brady's GTFOH

Only ONE loudmouth ever did.

As great as he was, as dominant as he was, he took games off and practices off whenever he felt like it.

Not true.

Moss himself is on record as saying he only plays when he wants to play.

A quote taken way out of context.

Rice didn't reveal anything new.

Exactly. He just repeated the same old CLICHE, which is a very LAZY thing to do.

There was nothing surprising there. Rice isnt even going by his own golden standard, he is going by the NFL community's standards.

It was ALL about his " gold standard," because by any other measure Moss was an OVERachiever.

Fact is, Moss' crime was that he was a BRASH and STUBBORN country boy who had TOO MUCH talent, and provoked jealousy and contempt from some of his peers and the media. He didn't know how to keep his mouth shut or how NOT to put his foot in it. But the reality was that he was a dedicated football player who rarely missed a game, turned some average QBs (like Culpepper and Cassel) into stars, and made the MOST out of the UNIQUE ability that he had.

My point exactly...Did Brady beat the Giants??????....

Shady is cool... BUT... He always talks about Eli... yet, Eli NEVER QUIT on his team like that BITCH ASS QB in Chicago... Eli PULLED OFF THE BIGGEST UPSET IN SUPER BOWL HISTORY... and Eli led his team to 3 road wins on his way to the BIGGEST UPSET IN SUPER BOWL HISTORY... Meanwhile... Gay Gutless... FAKES A KNEE INJURY... then... gets spotted strolling up and down the street shopping for BLOOMERS and BRAS with a so called 'severe knee injury'...

... AND always remember... in that Super Bowl... the Giants were DOWN... and the defense was NOT on the field... Eli WON THAT GAME... No matter how you spin it... rationalize it... ELI WON THAT GAME...

I wish more of the LEGENDARY players would speak up cause shit needed to be said! SAD, we are truly in the era where people are happy with GOOD ENOUGH. What the fuck happened to the standard of GREATNESS being clearly defined by hard work=excellence. Man, Jordan didn't take plays off even when he played with the fucking FLU!!

"Everyone's an underachiever but him"....NIGGA, them stats dont LIE...THEY ARE!!! Think about all the improvements and help available to players to improve their game that weren't available to players of Rice's era...mane, if Jerry had shit like HGH and them damn portable hyperbaric chambers during his run...SHHHIIIIIIT, you already know CHICO!!

This.

he made montana and young?

would some SF fans speak up on this please?

Montana had already won 2 Superbowls before Rice arrived.
Montana won 2 Superbowls after Rice arrived.

Rice didn't make Montana great, but he did make the team great and they probably wouldn't have won as many Superbowls had Rice not been on the team.

In Steve Young's case, YES, Rice made him a better QB because when Steve became the starter he struggled. If he didn't have an automatic target in Rice his first couple of years starting he wouldn't have been "Steve Young".

Now Rich Gannon was garbage when he arrived at the Raiders. Rice and Tim Brown put that scrub on their back and got him to the Superbowl.
