Teams called, but unable to sway Moss from retirement

Randy Moss appears to be serious about his decision to retire from the NFL after 13 seasons.

Since the five-time All-Pro announced his retirement on Monday, at least two teams have called in an attempt to talk him out of it, a league source told NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi. Moss declined both overtures. According to Lombardi, the Philadelphia Eagles were not one of the teams.

If Moss remains retired, he has completed a career that might lead to induction in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His 153 touchdowns are tied with Terrell Owens for second on the all-time career list, he's fifth in yards (14,858) and also tied with Hines Ward for eighth in receptions (954).

"In a lot of ways, he was the Michael Jordan of offenses in our league," Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said on Monday. "He was a special player for a long, long time."

Moss, 34, is coming off an extremely tumultuous season in which he played with three teams (New England Patriots, Vikings and Tennessee Titans) and posted career lows in receptions (28) and receiving yards (393).

He got pissed after he was only getting 1 year offers for the veteran's minimum and said "fuck it"
I knew he wouldn't go for that shit and knew he would rather retire
All these GMs thought he was just bullshitting
It would be nice to see him suit up for my Cowboys

Dude needs to swallow his pride and take the best one-year deal available. No reason for him to think he should get more than that, after his disasterous no-show last year.

Moss wouldn't in his right mind play for that shitty team....he's just waiting on the dolphins to call.

He was insulted by the one year offer. I think it's only temporary and he'll be back.

Odd that Chad Johnson got a long deal with his age, but Braylon and Roy Williams didn't. I understand Plaxico not getting one.

Do you really think it's odd that Roy Williams didn't get a long-term deal?

he only wants to play for the PATS. I bet if they called he would come.

not sure if was for the Eagles or not, but Moss was definitely in Philly Thursday at Capital Grille.

I knew it was only a matter of time before he retired or quit because I think he loved the game but the politics and the media seemed like something he didn't mesh with very well.

The Colts should call up Randy

There's three teams he could play for, Colts, Philly and New England

Naw, it's actually how little I think of Chad Johnson at this point. He's older than the other two and didn't even match Williams five touchdowns last year. I would have given him a one year deal also.

what more do the Cowboys want, they have Dez Bryant. How come the Steelers and Patriots must win with nobodys on their teams? I hope he goes to the Eagles..

:yes::yes:

Yeah,he was crying to come back...and it probably hurt his feelings when the Patriots signed Chad Ochowhateverthefuck.

I'm sure Randy regrets burning all those bridges last season...

TO is a better player

Yeah, but Chad is the one who had been playing with Palmer for years.

My question is why sign a declining player to a long term deal who's not better than a old TO. Personally I don't think it was a good move.
