Does Khan have the tools to beat PBF?

Forget Roger's stupid PED accusations. Forget PBF avoiding Manny. Let's look at the fight that has a high chance of being made. There is no Bob Father involved. And Khan needs PBF more than Manny. So I think the drug test wont be a issue to derail the fight. In fact I think it will just motivate Khan more to beat the beatable PBF. And the reason he is beatable is simple. Any fighter can lose a fight when his opponent is active in the fight. I see Khan being active and then some. I expect this is the next big fight in boxing. As long as PBF gets past Victor. This fight has to be made.

If PBF has any type of problem with Ortiz, even if he wins, I don't see him taking on anyone unless they're an old fighter or a fighter showing some slippage. I'd pick Khan to beat PBF by decision just based on activity. While PBF is busy trying to do shoulder rolls and limiting his offense to 2 punch combinations and pot shots, Khan will be much busier and rack up the points.

no...he is fighting just like Pac now...& I believe PBF has the skill set to beat Pac....Khan is Pac lite now....

if anything I think if Khan fights Bradley he will be put through a war....Bradleys style is Maidana 2.0....he will walk Khan down testing his heart & chin for 12 rds (including head butts )....

Bradley has not show much to me that he can beat Khan. Also he had his chance. Khan is moving up to fight the big boys. Or should I say big boy, PBF. I don't see Khan fighting Manny for a long time. They spare together and have the same trainer. Naw, Khan want PBF.

Khan and Manny are to different to compare. Khan is not Manny Lit in my eyes. I don't see a resemblance at all. I think 2012 should be a good year for boxing. Because either we get a PBF vs Ortiz 2, or him fighting Manny or Khan. I think The boxing world is waiting for PBF to take on a tough fight. 2012 is that year. Unless he retires again.

Another Mayweather thread on the sneak tip

I said something similar on the main board, but apparent thinking that Bradley has a good chance to beat Khan is some form of hating.

Lets see him beat Bradley then we can discuss PBF

This, Prescott and along with anyone of worth at welter.

same trainers...conditioning coaches...they spar all the time its inevitable that they will emulate each other....

Khan's movement is almost like Pac now...in the Judah fight I saw it alot of Pac movement in & out....

Khan is a better Boxer than Bradley...style wise Bradley is a grinder...he grinds his opponents down...breaks there will...he is not scared to exchange with any boxer at 140 in a phone booth...he will walk down his opponents he reminds me of a better Maidana....

& he is in great shape....it won't be any easy fight for Khan it will be similar to Maidana Vs. Khan....he will have his chin tested....

next Khan is no where near Pac's level so I don't see him giving any problems to May if they fought.....

Bradley can't punch or he'd probably beat Khan. I'm still not that impressed with Amir to be honest. He's good but he'd have a much better chance at beating Manny than PBF. Manny has a hard time against non-corpses. Khan would be taken apart by PBF in the late rounds.

If Amir moves up to welterweight he will be FOOD..... for any decent welterweight keep in mind Khans chin is very suspect... if he getting his chin checked at 140. Mayweather not to mention ...(Cotto, Berto, Ortiz, Williams) will pack his lunch.....

I normally would agree. But it is hard to guage how a fighter will do when he rarely fights. To me if these guys fight the decision comes down to two things. Does PBF get old in the ring and can Khan box effectively at 147? I dont doubt he goes after PBF.

What fights make you think his chin is very suspect?

And what gives you the impression PBF will get old in the ring? You do know Mayweather gave 2 of his best performances his last 2 fights right? And don't tell me he was fighting Mosley and Marquez because Manny is fighting those guys back to back AND he's fighting JMM at almost the same exact catch weight. Manny has a much better chance of getting old in the ring. He is a high action, high volume puncher who fights every 6 or 7 months and doesn't stay in the gym during his hiatus the way Floyd does. If dudes are basing their whole game plans on Floyd getting old in the ring......well I guess he is going to retire undefeated after all. If PBF doesn't get old in the ring I can pretty much guarantee you he'll whup Khan. Khan is a good fighter but he's not shown me "superstar" skills, he has a superstar look and he makes people tune in but fighting Maidana and Judah is nowhere near a gauge to measure what he would do against PBF or even Manny.

Khan vs Prescot ....... LOL

Khan vs Midana ( 10 round) if Midana had any speed it woulds have been a rap.....

Mayweather will sit in the pocket and simply dismantle Khan... he will not throw as many punches agianst Mayweather as he did agianst Judah.... the more active Khan is agianst Mayweather, the easier the KO will come..

What was difficult about understand what I was saying. And to say PBF gave his best two performances in his last two fights is comedy at its highest. The last two wins don't even register at all in his top 5 or 10 matches.

A suspect chin is a fighter like RJJ. I think one knockout three years ago and 9 fights later doesn't qualify as a fighter with a very suspect chin to me. But if it does then I'm wrong.

 khan is wayyyy too sloppy to beat mayweather . floyd doesnt just beat khan i guarantee he will stop him unless khan decides to run like he did in the final rounds against maidana

They're not hearing you. Khan is a good fighter but part of that sloppy shit you're talking about is lack of polish but it's also the fact that Khan isn't a super athlete. By that I mean a guy like Roy or Floyd or even Manny. He's talented but he doesn't possess that upper echelon talent that those other athletes have. I even see it in Nonito Donaire, I just don't see it in Khan.

I hear people talk about his height and his reach advantages, but he doesn't fight tall to capitalize on them. Khan's last two fights really put a spotlight on the Maidana fight for me. Khan got off on Maidana cause Maidana just stands there and moves forward. Shit even in the Malinaggi fight I thought Khan was going to have problems with Malinaggi's movement except Paulie wasn't moving and was eaten alive because of it. Khan against slicker guys looks good, but not great. He takes risks that his footwork can't save him from and his chin isn't built for. A mixture of slickness and solid offense will be his demise.

Khan of course wouldnt be favored over PBF right now. I dont think it is a slam dunk case against him beating PBF. He fought maidana's fight and still one. I am still missing how his chin is suspect though. I think upset are a part of the sport. I dont know if he could get an upset win over pbf. It is possible. I see him having a better chance than victor does. But i think pbf just has a style that is difficult for fighters to get off on. Khan has the physical tools. But i am not sure he has the other tools required to beat pbf. But having freddie and knowing how to fight towards a victory helps. I think it will be interesting. I hope it happens.

That is because you confuse a discussion with a debate. I am not try to convice anyone on anything. I am not looking for people to cosign my opinions. And I dont see this posts as debates. You are just used to people agreeing with you all the time. Kudos for you.

But I am not buying that pbf's last two fights were some of his best performances. I also think Khan has a chances to win. We need to see him at 147 to get a better grasp on his chances.

Anyways here is Khan and Judah's fight.

Seriously
It was funny for a while but let this go. It comes across as whiny and petty.

Floyd's performance against Shane was absolutely one of his better performances of his career.

when there is such an obvious mismatch in a fight. That is not impressive. You guys seriously are funny. Seeing a fighter turn around a fight like JMM did against manny is impressive. Beating as guy who was winded after the 4th round was a waste of time to watch.

It was funny for a while but let this go. It comes across as whiny and petty. I agree but not in the context you do.

 khan is wayyyy too sloppy to beat mayweather . .

Agreed. Roach has improved his footwork exponentially, but i am not convinced he is at the point where he would much success against Floyd. But at least it is not as bad as it was against Midana where he was tripping over his own foot. The only way something like Khan could beat Floyd is if he has Brick Hands and just scored a KO off a one-hitter quitter...but Khan doesnt have power like that....

But i would like to see a fight like that happen

preach.....

:smh::lol: @ cats thinking Khan right now would give May problems.....

May's talent right now is unequal....s/o plz deny this...

the man dictates when & where the fight takes place...he is the general in the ring....his opponents are just following him around trying to land just one clean flush shot that almost never happens....

Nobody at least here said Khan was going to win and that they were equals. The thread is just asking a question.

Mayweather-Khan more likely than Mayweather-Pacquiao?

MANILA, Philippines – British boxer Amir Khan’s recent knockout victory over Zab Judah has taken him one step closer towards a possible bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Indeed, some boxing writers feel that a Khan-Mayweather bout is more likely to happen than a Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao bout.

"From a practicality side of things also, Khan might now appear to be a more attractive option to Mayweather than Pacquiao," said Scott Heritage of Examiner.com.

Heritage said that there are several issues that will likely prevent a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight from happening.

He cited the drug testing debate, as well as the defamation suit that Pacquiao has filed against Mayweather.

Moreover, it will be easier to put together a Khan-Mayweather fight since both fighters are promoted by Golden Boy.

Darren Barcomb of 8countnews.com said Mayweather seems to be looking forward to a possible fight with Khan already.

Mayweather recently invited English fans to watch his training session in Las Vegas.

But Barcomb adds that there may also be factors that can prevent a Khan-Mayweather fight, including the random drug test issue.

In a recent interview, Mayweather’s uncle and trainer, Roger, accused Khan of using steroids, which Khan vehemently denied.

Khan willing to undergo drug test

MANILA, Philippines – Unified light-welterweight champion Amir Khan is willing to undergo any kind of drug testing for a possible fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

According to BoxingScene.com, the British boxing champion has said that he will be 'happy' to undergo drug testing just to ensure that he can fight Mayweather.

"Whatever test he (Mayweather) wants me to do, I'm happy to do it," Khan said.

Drug testing is among the issues that is preventing a possible mega-fight between Mayweather and pound-for-pound king Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

But Khan has said that he is not worried about taking the test.

"I've never taken drugs in my life and never will, so that is why I am so keen on taking a test," he said.

Mayweather's uncle and trainer, Roger, recently accused Khan of using performance enhancing drugs, something that Khan denied.

"I think they just want to break down fighters and get right into their heads," Khan said of the allegations. "With me, it just doesn't work. I've been in the game getting drug tested since I was an Olympic athlete, so I don't think it will ever affect me."

Khan won a silver medal in the 2004 Olympics and last weekend defeated Zab Judah to become the unified light-welterweight title holder.

It is an exciting fight. I hope it happens.

Mayweather-Khan more likely than Mayweather-Pacquiao?

Of course it is...that's too easy. Hell, you can say that Cotto-Pacquiao is more likely than Mayweather-Pacquiao...

Damn Prescott killed Khan  I've never saw him fight, but i'm gonna dl'ed this Khan Judah fight an come back wit a lil analysis
