bingo, this reeks of utter shit. i just wonder at what point does the ego prevent them from pulling the plug.

but i said the same thing about the spider man one more day, and its not that bad (at some points was pretty good).

The worse part of this was Booster Gold to me was the only reliably good DC book. Now they're probably going to shuffle him into phantom stranger status or make him into the RIP hunter or some shit where he comes off as some enigmatic guide/prophet to the New DC heroes.

I mean I think this is a bad idea. It's going to end like every other reboot that is planned to capitalize on movie money....FAIL.

But with that said on the flip playing devils advocate:

They are introducing Wildstorm characters to the regular DCU. A Daemonite invasion might be interesting. As well as a reboot of Stormwatch & planetary.

If DC somehow figures out a smart way to combine DC/Wildstorm/ (and possibly Milestone comics?) characters into 1 universe I will give them credit at least for not wasting all of those good characters as it seemed they were going to do up to this point.

I mean it would have been better if they had funded those separate imprints but :dunno:

its too late to go back now. I mean I still think its gonna suck but until we read the stories we wont know.

What aspect of OMD were good to you?

Well, there are somethings that are just bizarre and yet you can tell were a total corporate decision. For example, they are giving Green Arrow a new look - sort of - he's going to look just like his Smallville counter part.

Sliding Albion is already established as a major villain and they will be used by almost all books.

They have a lot of Black, Latino and Asian leads in their line up...so maybe that is a good thing if they are written correctly.

I really just think DC should make their flagships older and start giving their new characters some more air time and story line prominence.

Batman and Superman won't be losing icon status anytime soon. They would be older and training the next gen and stuff and it would make for a MORE dynamic universe were peril was more considerable.

i liked the anti venom arch; im a eddie brock fan, and i like how they introduced some new characters (menace and that dude that couldnt die-cant remember his name) but i will admit some of the story lines were garbage before and after. then at one point he starts unmasking to just about everybody who wants to know and im thinking wasnt this supposed to be the point of the deal he made with mephisto?

OK. But would you say the + out weigh the - from that story line?

The unmasking was just a plot device to remove the marriage. His unmasking was never a real threat.

Spider-man is a KNOWN hero through out the U. The crooks of his world would be dumb to move on him because they know for a fact they bring the heat of the entire hero community on their heads (shit even some villains would protect Spidey). He would have been a celebrity, honestly and that how the book would have gone if they had the guts.

The marriage was the pin for many writers because they wanted to add sexual tension to his story line but since Peter is a rock (get it) he would not be tempted to cheat on her....Remember when Blackcat was fucking with him in front of MJ back in the day when Erik Larsen was drawing the book? That's about as far as they could write Peter. He would flirt but never commit because if he did it would tarnish his hero status to many readers.

Same deal with Superman...once he got married the only sexual tension that could be found were in the else worlds...Remember when he got his way with Maxima and that was only when Lois was dead from child birth to his kid...

Shit the unmasking was a gold mine for writers....the marriage - in their eye was not.

actually now that you mention it wildstorm did have a few interesting ideas, Especially when it came to villians and their use of the Bleed. This new U may be interesting just for exploring those new ideas.... and with all these new heroes people might die and stay dead for over 5 years at a time :yes:

costume/designs aside i think its a bad idea for DC.
