Rapper Lil B Sells 1,700 Copies Of “I’m Gay”

not bad for being independent & coming up strictly by talking shit on the internet,,, & it was a smart move to give the album away free because now more people will have exposure to his music & prolly pack his shows when he hits the road,,, shows are where your money is made,,,

 Man fuck that cornball, gimmick-ass nigga. Who are these two, particularly shorty on the right in the blue bikini...

:hotdamn::rise:

well it's true... look up his net value.... it's over $600,000 all self made. He sure ain't made 600,000 off of album sales. But then again, haters gone hate...

Are you fucking serious?!!!!

If that shit doesn't include a house inherited from pops or some shit I'm gonna need to start rapping 'bout 'Hoes on my dick 'cause I look like Colombo'

Swag :hmm:

I'm proud to say that I was one of those 1700 people to purchase that album off of Itunes even after he gave it away for free.

Nigga pocketed over $17000 on that effort. More than you old ass broke ass niggas make in 6 months. BTW, BaseGod is back on his youtube shit

So the nigga just comes out of nowhere drops a album for free on the internet with no single or video and did 1k on a free album for download? I don't get what's so funny? I don't like the nigga like the next dude but I don't see how anyone felt he'd do much more. HE's not on a major.
Don't bother making sense, bruh. The hate is too strong. An unsigned rapper making nearly 20 grand in just a few days off a free album he dropped out of the blue -- called "I'M GAY", no less -- is a FAIL.

Yea its always niggas who don't know shit about the industry laughing. I think they believe Lil' B is some mainstream artist but this shit is just the beginning for dude. This is just part of marketing here. They haven't really started his mainstream push yet. Just like them Odd Future dudes when Tyler did like 40k. This is just part of the marketing. But I get niggas hate him. I don't care for him either. But if you gonna laugh at the nigga atleast know when to do it. 1700 people bought a free album. How is that funny?

i don't listen to lil b
but this dude basically dropped an impromptu album with free internet promotion and sold 1,700 copies which isn't staggering numbers in the least.
he then proceeded to give the album away for free..
he already had a following across the country and his shows were already packed.
guess what?
he's about to go on another tour financed by himself and make some more money off of those dudes that do go to the shows to see him.

laugh if you like but he's gonna be bringing in some good money for himself by himself

What I can't understand is how its called "hate" when this dude clearly promotes gay shit, but turns around and says he's not gay.

How are you old ass men, who grew up on real hip hop / rap music riding with this gimmick ass nigga?

You dumb ass. You obviously know nothing about hip hop, or artistry in general.

- bruh, even forgetting the fact that itunes and other little distributors would take their cut

17k is not a lot of money :smh:

You really can't knock his hustle. I never have. He took the Soulja Boy route & it's working for him. But I just don't understand him calling himself a fag, justin beiber, etc etc...

He's self made & self paid which is good to see fasho. But at what cost:confused:

Nigga you talking like $17000 is a lot.....Thats Kia money. Tell that nigga to pick up in his Kia Sportage.

- i agree with everything but this...

again, let's say this dude made 17k off these sales...that's a lot of money out in L.A.?

and I mean for an independent adult with bills? no hate serious question...

Niggas done came in here & done started gettin' sensitive already. Male groupies. Niggas 'bout as bad as some hoes when it comes to these rap niggas. :smh:

The folks amused or rejoicing in this thread about the numbers have a lot to learn. The album was given away for free. I'm disturbed at how happy people seem to be about another human being's supposed 'failure', though.

Sorry to break this to you, but if you've listened to Hip-Hop in the past 20 or so years, supporting gimmicks is part of the territory.

To be fair this silly bastard is selling out shows in NY and I have to assume the same is true back home in Cali.

Album sales aren't the most important thing for any artist. This is fact.

The real dough comes from touring.

I wonder how much bread he makes a show. That's the real question.

Of course he is back on this YouTube bullshit: After selling 1700 copies of an album, you have to do something to stay relevant, right?

Good for him doing his independent shit and all, but with the "buzz" this clown generated, and he only pushes 1700? :smh:

That is like selling straight from your trunk :smh:

True no doubt.

But never before in the hip hop community has openly homo lyrics been so widely accepted. That's why it's mind boggling for me to here cats 35 & ^ riding with this nigga.

All for what?
