If Jimmer Fredette was black, he'd be considered one of the top 3 in the Draft!!

Racism isn't only a white vs. black thing. I've seen this kid play a lot and if he were a black player, especially a black inner city player, he'd be compared to a Chris Jackson type of player coming out of college. But, since he's white, he all of a sudden has to be the next JJ Reddick!!! With the right system, this Kid will do a hell of a lot more in the NBA than a lot of the other 'Highly' rated picks. I firmly believe he will have a more solid career than Kemba Walker AND Kyrie Irving, who I am still mystified is considered the #1 prospect in this draft, after playing only 11 colleges games!!! Damn shame, as much as we accuse the white race of looking for the next great white hope, we facilitate the same bullshit with every black kid with a cross over and a nice handle to be better....

I'd feel like, for what he does best, he is better than Irving and Kemba Walker, based on what they do best!

And by the way, I am black before the CACs bullshit starts!!! :smh:

I won't argue that he may go higher...BUT.

  • He would be called Selfish for jacking up so many shots
  • He would be called undisciplined for the types of shots he jacks up
  • He would be called lazy for his lack of effort on defense
  • They would wonder if he would continue to work on his game when he gets rich
  • They would question his "Basketball I.Q." just because...

So I won't cry any tears for this CAC. Fuck him.

I don't agree with your assessment of Fredette even though I do agree with the comparisons that automatically get placed on white basketball players. CobraKai has many of the same views on Fredette that I do and I believe that he is too flawed a player to be drafted that high even in this weak ass draft.

I personally think a better comparision would have been what would the draft prospects been of a Chase Budinger if he were black since he was more of an athlete coming out of college than Fredette.

Irving being injured plays little into him being the top prospect IMO. That wasn't much of an issue when we used to see high schoolers drafted fairly high. The only thing I see is that his learning curve is going to be steeper than most since he played fairly little in college and hardly any games against real good competition.

:yes::yes:And Kyrie will still be making all-star teams long after Jimmers career is over.

No way I'm taking Irving over Derrick Williams! And what I see with Irving is a Brandon Jennings clone.... Definitely a great player but #1 pick worthy!?!?!? :smh:

With Fredette, I see a specialist who doesn't rely on athletic ability but on his specific skill set. That's why I see him having a longer career than the other two. They both may come into the league, offer a few highlights, but in the long run it's players like Fredette who have longer careers, because he is a specialist. Imagine him say on the heat this year, where LJ or Wade could have penetrated and kicked out for buckets!?!?! Plus, it would have been difficult to double team as much because he would have made Dallas pay.

No Dis, I love both Irving and Walker, but if I am looking for someone to complete my team, I'd take a Fredette type player over either of them. He may have flaws, but he's not being drafted in spite of his flaws, but based on his strengths... Best shooter in the draft... Zone Buster, scorer... Love his game...

No, he wouldn't be top 3 in the draft...Hell, Stephen Curry didn't crack the top 5...

And trust me, as much pub as he was getting last season at BYU, you would have already known if he would have been at least top 5. I guess NBA scouts saw then that he wasn't in that group...which is saying a lot because this group at face value does not look good at all.

I agree with TJervey in that Fredette is a specialty player that could fit in with some teams that have speed on offense with players that can drive to the paint or initiate a fast break in a snap. While Miami seems like a good fit, they already have players there (Jones, Miller) that would take that spot. Maybe New York or Atlanta could use him :dunno:

In THIS Draft he would be...

Got drafted by the Bucks...that might be a good fit if they still have Jennings and Bogut there this year (I heard they might trade Bogut, but I don't know why)

Hope they keep Bogut... Definitely a good fit with Jennings, penetration and Dish... thats all he needs is a good penetrating PG. If they get someone on the other wing too... Jimmer may be a slight problem...
