He was "successful" in his own mind. Dude was a forerunner to the "braggadocio" rappers of the next generation. On the other hand, we KNOW Lamont got laid all the time. He never worked and was pushing age 30. What else was he doing?

When was the last time you watched the show? Lamont worked all day picking up/buy and selling junk (commodities, as he would say) on the truck. That's how they made money. They weren't on public assistance. He and his father owed a barely profitable business.
