I ended up listening to a day of Tupac Amaru Shakur in his honor.

Outside of rap, I miss this revolutionary. He was right on time. The world wasn’t ready. We were afraid and didn’t know it.

It hurts us every time one of these panther brothers/sisters past. Their very existence harkens back to a special place and time when it seemed like positive change was possible.

They literally gave their lives for the betterment of their people. That sentiment seems ridiculous and nonsensical in our current context. Yet their lives remind us of what is possible and necessary.

We stand on the shoulders of giants. Much that we have and enjoy is because of the actions of The Panthers.

Salute to the brother.
