Right. And they completely change the neighborhood.
Imagine buying into a neighborhood for the culture and living next to a party house with different people every weekend. Your complaints go nowhere.
It also artificially inflates home values and raises taxes. The neighborhood becomes an open air hotel and makes competition with real hotels without paying hotel taxes and having regulations
I been reading stories on them, there's houses being used for porn production (likely onlyfans bitches shooting content)... people was complaining about seeing them on balconies fuckin while they taking their kids to school in the morning or picking them up afterwards... other instances where parking around the airbnb area have turned into people tearing down gates or blocking driveways, all kinds of shit.
Me personally, I've been close to firing off on airbnb residents across from me because they had the alley blocked and I couldn't back out. Luckily they were able to rent the place out, but when they're gone it'll go right back to airbnb until a resident moves in for the year.
Shit is annoying as fuck.

I'm in a condo and had Airbnb on top, bottom and one side at one time. It was terrible.
I'm eventually gonna move out and into a single family home and rent my condo out on the low.
I wouldn't want Airbnb in my spot. They will mess stuff up and it could be 5 travelers back before you discover it...you wouldn't even know who did it.

From what I've read the best thing you can do is get one of those rental management companies to run your shit for you... they take their cut from it but they handle EVERYTHING, from maintenance to finding renters.
My sister had 3 or 4 properties over in north/northwest Houston off of Beltway 8 and Antoine... she had section 8 residents in there... money was good but dealing with the residents got on her nerves... I literally had to go kick in the door to help evict some people out of there.... they had trashed it and everything... at that point sis was like FUCK THAT and sold all them shits.
Hotels started bitching in Virginia Beach cause the started effecting their profits especially during covid. There are two blocks (30+ homes) down near the oceanfront that are nothing but Airbnb's owned by one guy we were contracted to turn into smart houses so he could monitor everything (keep in mind it's not regulated so there in no real privacy)
You can go directly to the hospitals & they'll set you up with doctors/nurses who need housing. That way if anything goes wrong the hospital will hem them up. My cousin was doing a dental surgery program in NY & the hospital linked him up with a NICE spot in Harlem. A few of my lady's friends are doing it in PA because of the two large hospital groups in the area.

Give it time if they can't drive them away they will figure away in and profit from it . Only thing stopping them for the moment is they are in the red on current projects and maintaining current properties.
