get over to that new trader joes on shepherd and 59 and cop some of that trader joe smoke seasoning... the one with the african-smoked paprika, basil, sea salt, etc.
i had a friend bring some to me in La, and let me tell ya... that shit is AWESOME!!! i season my fish bout 45 min before cooking-allowing it to get to room temp before i grill or fry.
the results were phenomenal, and i typically keep my seasonings to a minimum-using basic salt/pepper combinations.

We went out Saturday on my boat to the bay and gulf and came back with some grub. We got some pompanos, flounders, and lane snappers.

once you pass the dropoff(offshore, 50ft+ deep) the water gets clear.
how far from the beach is this?
it changes, but around 3miles off ive noticed the water get clear, you can still see land.
i only go out that far cause i have an inflatable liferaft and the gas lifevest. i dont fuck around
most fishing boats have hollow hulls that are filled with foam(required by uscg), the best are boston whalers, those fuckers cant sink. theyve been cut damn near in half and still float.

The water isnt dirty, the silt gets turned over becuase of the direction the missippi river runs off into the western part of the gulf
