It is the ignorance of racial politics. They do not do it because of
a negative self image, but because they the see their black American
cousins doing it. For that reason the think that social and political
implications have been vetted, and the practise has been found to
be harmless. Honestly, African women do not think that white
women are more beautiful than they are. The society in which they
live exalts them, and so they do not know or think anything else.
On the other hand, black American women live in a society that
despises them, and hence they do everything to meet the American
ideal of beauty; and that is a blonde haired white woman...........
Africans see this and they copy it, as if it is the latest dress or skirt
and ignorantly manifest the bullshit that they see their sisters doing.
In time the propaganda will get them to because habits reinforce
beliefs and behaviour; as they continue to do this, African women
will reach a time when they begin to believe that anything else
is improper, and then the real damage will have been done.
Right now, most women in Africa thing this shit is glamorous
because they see in on black American women.....That is where
their mindset is at this point in time. If Black American women
went back to Afros, African women would junk the weaves too;
The Brazilian women would retain their weaves, but their world
is invisible to Africans, and they exert little influence on African
fashion..
