Definitely not the best way to discuss important/sensitive topics. I really thought Talib would have responded in a much more mature manner. He seems a bit over sensitive to criticism.

I saw Talib in concert in the early 2000s. He was ridiculously late, then jumped on stage and said he wasn't going to perform because someone (one of the promoters or the promoters crew) sucker punched him. Then he supposedly sees the person in the crowd and jumps off stage to attack the guy.
After being dragged away, his dj that was spinning starts packing up, but I guess Talib's manager or somebody told him he wasn't getting paid unless he performed so he put on a short show...actually a good one too LOL. This was back when he had a couple lady singers with him (don't know if he still does), The Shock Body Rockers.
Find out the next day that ALLEGEDLY when he showed up late as fuck he was also drunk as fuck and when somebody commented on his lateness he said "Fuck it I ain't want to do the show anyway" and punched the chick who said it, which made the guy who hit him...hit him.
All that to say that being "conscious" in your music don't mean you ain't an asshole in real life
