I want to thank everybody that also thinks the cop was in the wrong, which he was. I was respectful up to the point where he gave me a $1000 ticket for my license plate and told me to go back to school and take physics lessons because I said that it flipped up by itself considering it's on there with zip-ties. That's when I got sarcastic. I in no way wanted to make it seem like I was being sincere when I said god bless you. I have another 10 minutes of footage of him fucking with me, so thank you to all my non-cop supporters. As for everyone else, go fuck yourself...or better yet, wait the the cops fuck you.

+The22NITSCHKE What does it matter what happened in the rest of the video? It does not warrant the cop's poor verbal treatment of this kid. The cop did not handle that professionally. and that's why The Miami Beach Internal Affairs department is doing an investigation. They have already stated that this is "not typical, or courteous, or what they expect from their officers" So, Nitschke, I can only assume that you know the cop, or you yourself are a cop.

If a cop can't handle sarcasm, should he be a cop? Do you trust a man like this with a gun and your life? Do you trust this same man to "protect and serve"? This is the same man that arrests or even worse, kills innocent people because he can't handle sarcasm. If he can't handle a sarcastic 20 year old kid, how is he gonna handle a real criminal?

The cop did nothing wrong. The other guy however needs to learn some respect and not be a smartarse when hes letting you off lightly. I can see why the cop switched and if you have no respect for him and decide to take the piss I dont expect him to have any respect for you.

Are you insane the cop did his job and gave the guy the ticket, then after the guy saying more or less saying 'whatever' to this roid rage asshole, the cop threatens him with arrest because he did not like that the guy was not cowering in fear. +AJJ J First of all, I doubt the guy just turned his camera on at this moment. I'm sure he was being a dick or did something wrong and edited that part out. Secondly, you seem to hold cops in such high esteem and say that they should only get the respect that they give others, but then you go and defend someone acting like a sarcastic dick head and expect the cop to treat him with respect. I get that cops should be held to a higher standard, but they are people just like us. The cop may have been having a bad day, and was trying to be nice and let the kid off easy, but getting lip service from him set him off. Is it right? No, but none of that would have happened if the kid didn't A) break the law in the first place, or B) run his mouth to the cop letting him off easy.

It's the people who are defending the cop who are missing the point. Nobody is saying that the kid wasn't being a sarcastic dick. The point is that there is no law prohibiting him from being sarcastic to police officers. The cop on the other hand is bound by a strict code of conduct policy that he violated multiple times during this encounter (Florida's officer ethical requirements are available online).
This isn't a "reap the disrespect you sow" scenario. The cop agreed to certain specific conduct rules when he accepted his job and taxpayer-funded salary. If following those rules is too tall an order for this man, then maybe the taxpayers should want to alleviate him of the responsibility.

I think people are missing the point. You said "God bless you" in a sarcastic f u type of way. It was disrespectful and you deserved the cop getting in your face. Act like a prick, get treated like a prick. He didn't touch you in any way that I could see. Stop playing it like you were trying to wish him a good day. You weren't. You were being a dick and he called you on it, then you shut up when he offered you jail for the night. You should have shut up sooner.

No there is no law that says you have to respect police. You have to obey them and he did by taking the ticket. Anything after that was personal and the cop still threatened to jail the boy because he did not cower in fear at this prick.

Even if he did, the officer should not react like that. The officers job is to give him a warning or give him a ticket or taking him to jail.
I agree, the kid was being sarcastic, but there is no reason for the officer to react like that. Most likely the officer slept on a bed of rocks, had a bad breakfast and was carrying on some bad energy from a previous incident in his life to react like that for something he deals with every day, it is part of his job.
That kid is not the first sarcastic kid he encounters in his career, he should know how to handle it professionally.
For what I see in the video, it was only a traffic violation, if it was something greater, the officer should have arrested him.
Police officers need to control their emotions and not make it personal, if they can't, they should find another job. They are not allowed to speak to anyone like that.
