Thats exactly why you should never use an ATM card to buy gas. Only use it as a credit card, if you must. Best option is to use a credit card with a chip. Atleast then it is protected by the card company in case there are fraudulent charges.

I get my gas at Sam's and I use their app. The only touching I do at the pump is choose my gas grade and grab the hose.
