Actually, thats a cultural rite of passage into manhood,,I cant recall the specific name of the ritual but I saw that on the discovery channel,,,looks pretty cool when the outcome isn't tragic,,its a centuries old tribal practice that still occurs to this day

So, bungee jumping isn't really a new concept

Swing ride breaks, injures riders
(Friday, August 4, 2006) - Three children were injured after an amusement ride broke at a carnival in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. They were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for bumps and bruises and released. The ride, called the Swing, is operated by Wenzel Amazements of Allenton, Wisconsin.
The accident is under investigation.

from this amusement ride accident site, they got archives going back to 1998, but I didn't feel like looking thru all of them...

i don't think thats the same story......the one on the clip was from another country
