Y'all Wanna Be Transported To Another Dimension? Some Super Sick Live Shit

love it..!

but kinda off topic...why does all of this "soul" music have to be drowned in Rhodes. Makes every thing sound the same. It's over used. play a real piano..hell play b3 or something..

I loved the Rhodes here bruh :o

It can get cliche but that warm underbase a great Rhodes musician provides is some comforting ass and appropriate shit when done right imo. Depends on the arrangement? Weigh in BGOL musicians

I'm serious man! D'Angelo dropped a revolutionary album with "Brown Sugar", and then started hanging around Questlove and those Soulquarian-type incense-burning spoken word-type mofos and he nor his music has been the same ever since. This was a Richmond nigga and they turned him into some neo-soul nut!

You're a joker and a midnight toker bruh! This shit is super cold, and as a fan of D'Angelo and that whole Soulquarian thing I can't get jiggy wit ur reckless ass posting rn

Sleep at your own peril

Just click play and slip outta this universe

Watchu think @Ill Paragraph ?

This is nice by itself, but I wonder what Erykah Badu, Bilal, and Joi would do to this.

You are right. One can dream though. I have been listening to Yussef Dayes and Alfa Mist on Spotify now and I am hooked. Bgol has peaked my jazz interest in the last 15 years. I never thought I would be listening to jazz when I was in my 20’s. I was looking at my old PM’s and I was talking with @RunawaySlave about Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor back in 2005. That was 13 years ago! That’s when I started listening to jazz, because of this board opening my ears. I use to frequent the jazz threads to learn what to listen to and I have never been disappointed. Bigups to @sharkbait28 for posting this. Cheers!

DANGELO is different! dont blaspheme! the difference is YODA breaking that shit into molecular focus , all these other Philly wannabe neegz go off into the tangent with it !all the SOULQAURIAN shit that bled unto the SOULIVEs and Corey Henrys band ? Snarky puppy shit . but Corey is a beast\and he is good ,quite a good number actually but i know , there's a point it all starts to blend into some seemless "RHODES fest" becos whiteboys dont know what else to do they can only work from what they've copied

Revisiting this and it's still such a great listen.

Drummer is funky but the rest of that shit was sloppy freestyling bull that you hear on AM radio.

These comments are still rage inducing too lmao :roflmao3:

Oh shit this thread is over a year old. I thought this was some new shit. I always said my card was going to get revoked because I did not like Jazz or Gospel music. I have started listen to Robert Glasper Terrance Martin and Jeff Bradshaw.

Thanks for this
