COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Two teenagers have been kicked out of school for kissing on a school bus, and now their families are challenging the decision.

Dominique Goyner and his girlfriend were expelled by the Richland County school board in October for the rest of the academic year.

School officials told Jody Free her son was being removed from school for "sexual misconduct."

But Free saw the tape and says it showed the pair kissing for maybe two minutes. Had it been anything different, she said she would have supported the school's decision.

Her son said he knew he was breaking a rule but was shocked by school's response. He says he hopes the expulsion won't stop him from attending a military academy after graduation.

School district spokeswoman Theresa Riley said she couldn't comment but that the district stands by the decision.

Hell I remember in high school these 2 white kids were kissing and a teacher said "awww thats cute." That same damn day 2 black students were kissing, and she took them to the principles office. I was like wut the fuck.

Well, he must have skipped the part about the punishment for such an infraction or he wouldn't have been surprised. AND he's in ROTC or something like it. Cause schools like these have a history of incidents happening of something similar or worse and now they in a nontolerance mode. Kids do whatever they can get away with. So the harsh punishment is a way to set a example for the other students to see and think twice about what they do.
Nowadays you got parents dropping their kids off at day care before they go to homeroom

exactly, you can't keep letting it go on until something happens, some bad apples done messed up for everyone...and when you step onto a school bus the school system is responsible for you until the end of the day when they drop you off. if you leave school early and something happens it's the school's fault too. you have to understand how the school works before you start complaining.

and i understand why it happened but i still say it's too harsh so stop selective reading people.

what does that have to do with anything? kids are gonna do it and they do it in school all the time. you're out of touch if you don't know that. so what they weren't in a classroom...im not understanding your point on that...if you get caught in school property which the bus counts as then you got consequences.

To say someone should get expelled for kissing is absurd.

I know in my high school Public display of affection(PDA) was a level 2 offense and smoking weed was a level 1 offense, With a level 3 being expulsion. People laughed at the rule all the time, because it was ABSURD.
