XBox 360 Price Drop 8/27/09 (Elite $299)

Not @ all. The 360 already had 2 units selling for $299 or below. So this is nothing major like the PS3 finallly coming down to $299. Market may be already "flooded" w/ Wiis/360s. It's the PS3s turn now. More competition means  for everybody unless your bitch ass only has 1 system.

Im sorry bro but an elite for $299 is indeed a big deal. I've been undecided on a system for a whle and the only thing preventing me from copping an elite was the price. I even went out and pre purchased some PS3 titles thinking i would just settle there. If this is true about the elite then i may to a 180 and grab a 360.

I still dont like the 360 controller but fuck it.

Fella's, can i network the 360 and stream content from my home PC's through it like you can the PS3?

You're prolly one of a few cuz most normal ppl went out and bought the Arcade/Pro if they felt the Elite was too pricey. :dunno: PS3 NEVER offered a cheaper option so it's price drop is bigger news as evidenced by it selling out practically everywhere. Let's see if that happens for the Elite. And yes I'm a Sony/Nintendo "fan". What I'm not a "fan" of is niggas that have 0-1 systems speaking like they done played everything (not directed @ you UNLESS it applies).

You have to factor in the extra 99.99 for a wireless adapter and whatever a microsoft approved headset costs.

Gaming over a wireless network is lame, anyone who games online will tell you that corded > wireless...

Also you can bridge your laptop to connect to xbox live if your really cheap....

And not to be mean but what grown ass man watches blueray movies on a damn ps3? A grown man with a good job, his own place, pops out a damn video game system to watch a movie on? C'mon son....

That ain't gangsta at all.

damn that was the only reason I was going to get one the kill two birds on stone theory

I hardly buy DVD's anymore since I got the WD HD joint

I never had a blueray before wanted to try it out before I bought a seperate unit

Oh well, back to the PS3 option. :smh:

dude dont listen to that dick head. shit aint even necessary. like dude said just use a wireless router or bridge it to your laptop. and if you must get a wireless adapter gstop sells used joints for like 50.00 . but again shit aint even necessary.

Thanks for the info.

There is no need for the xbox 360 wireless adapter. Just get a Linksys-Cisco WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router, put Tomato firmware on it, and set it as a wireless ethernet bridge. Shit, you can buy 2 and set one as a bridge/wireless repeater to extend your wireless range for less than 100 bucks.

So now that both 360 and PS3 are coming down in price..

Which is the best system for a guy with no blu-ray player?

My intended uses are:

1. streaming media from my server (movies, music etc.). I hope to be able to stream HD content.
2. Playing downloaded (pirated) and legacy games.

or should I wait for the ps3 slim and why?

I don't really need either of these. I have original xboxes in every rooom as media jukeboxes, with games loaded on the hard drives. They are getting old though..and the kids would appreciate having the latest games...
but daddy aint buying no $50 games..:smh:

Any advice appreciated
