9:15 PM PT -- People connected to Cardi tell us, when Cardi approached the table she was not looking for a fight ... they say she wanted "to address the lies Nicki was spreading." They believe security had a plan if Cardi came anywhere near, and one of them elbowed her in her face (check out the lump). They say at that point it was on.
Cardi B showed off her shoes Friday night at a New York Fashion Week party ... by throwing one of them at Nicki Minaj ... TMZ has learned.
Cardi and Nicki both showed up at the Harper's Bazaar's bash. Nicki was with her crew at a table, when Cardi "aggressively approached the table" ... this according to eyewitnesses.
But, Cardi wasn't done ... she pulled off her shoe and threw it at her enemy ... missing her target.
Cardi was escorted out by security, and she left the building with one shoe on her foot.
Now that's fashion!

The feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B just turned physical!
On Friday night, the rappers got into an altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party, a source confirms to PEOPLE. The bash was part of the festivities for New York Fashion Week.
An insider tells PEOPLE that Cardi arrived at the event first. After Nicki showed up, there was an “altercation” on the second-floor balcony during a Christina Aguilera performance.
“The scene was f—— crazy,” the insider tells PEOPLE. “It was entourage against entourage.”
“They had their altercation on the second-floor balcony, right above the red carpet. All of the sudden there was a big commotion and everyone didn’t know what was going on.”
Immediately following the incident, Cardi was escorted out by security while Nicki stayed inside. Cardi was seen leaving the party barefoot with a large lump on her forehead.
“She left barefoot with her dress ripped and butt out,” source said. Cardi was wearing a red Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Videos of the incident were posted on social media. In one video, Cardi B can be seen making a lunge towards someone, though it is not entirely clear if its the “Barbie Dreams” rapper.
In another video obtained by Cosmopolitan, Cardi can be seen removing her shoe as she repetitively screams, “I will f— you up!”
Cardi is then seen throwing her shoe before she is dragged away while yelling that people were talking about her daughter.

An NYPD Public Information Officer confirmed to PEOPLE that there have been no arrests at this point and officials are still on the scene, noting that while the “incident itself has ended, the investigation is still ongoing.”
Representatives for the rappers did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Cardi later wrote a long scathing Instagram post which she entitled “PERIOD” which did not mention Nicki by name but suggested Nicki had tried to sabotage Cardi’s career and also spoken about the rapper’s daughter, Kulture Kiari.
“I’ve let a lot of s— slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f— up the way I eat! You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f—— with them!! I let you talk big s— about me!!” she wrote.

It's official that Nicki Minaj and Meek Millhave split, and now we may have some insight as to what led to their split.
A source tells E! News that there was a big communication problem between the rap couple. "They were fighting on and off for a little while about a few topics that upset Nicki. They had a bigger fight and then called it quits," an insider tells us exclusively.
The source adds that Minaj was the one who decided to end the relationship, and that there is still love between these exes.

"She is doing great and is just putting her mind and soul into her music at this time," the source explains. "She can't predict the future, so getting back with Meek could happen down the road again, because even with fights, she will always have a love for him."
Speculation on whether these two separated continued to grow until Nicki took to social media to set the record straight that, yes, she's no longer with Meek.
"To confirm, yes I am single," she wrote to her 20.7 million followers. "Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love u."
There seemed to be a bit of shade thrown at the Pink Friday rapper when Meek displayed an image of wedge sneakers with the caption, "If you walk out don't wear these they wack….." on an Instagram post that has since been deleted.
Sure, that can be interpreted in many ways, but those shoes were worn in the music video for Ciara's 2013 break-up single "I'm Out" featuring Nicki. We'll let you decide on whether that's just a funny coincidence or not.
