I didn't know they had their own shows. Netflix Original Series House of Cards. Netflix will release the entire season all at once. All thirteen episodes of the political series will debut on February 1, 2013 on the streaming video service. No more waiting for episodes to air.

I was watching that Vin Diesal show called "Top Rope" or some shit. It was a good show too.

This shit here looks good. Looks like a softer "The Boss" but its shot great. Got Kevin Spacey in it. Looks like something they would've had at HBO. But shit man hopefully this is just a sign of things to come. Netflix having its own shows.

Damn that one looks good too. Shit man I didn't know Netflix was goin' this hard for 2013 with original programming. I think its smart to do too because of right now no streaming service is offering original programming aside from like Youtube but they are more like 3 or 4 minute shorts. Don't sit back and wait for services like Hulu and others to start going hard like this.

hope they get a show on the level of walking dead or game of thrones

LillyHammer was fucking good so was the On The Ropes show.

Oh its already out ?

They also have a new season arrested development coming up this year too

Yea I forgot all about that. Never seen that show but it was a critics darling like a muthafucka. People still be talking about that show. And I believe most of the cast is coming back too which is crazy because a lot of those actors/actresses have been pretty successful since it went off.

they need to pick up some of these good canceled shows like boss, last resort

Yea I can see The Boss being on Netflix. Especially if they got the budget for that Kevin Spacey shit. Boss should've never been cancelled. I don't know what that shit was about. They must've mismanaged the budget or some shit.

Gonna check it out but this new series is rip off of the original House of Cards. The original was a British series from the 1990s. I loved every episode.

That original joint is still one of the highest rated British dramas on Netflix. Watch that joint and you realize politics is truly a game of chess not checkers :itsawrap:

lilyhammer was good for a few episodes but then it kind of got corny/forced in trying to be a mob Sopranos style drama. Cool make believe fake spinoff for Silvio's character, but it was a good thing it was only eight episodes long. More than that and it would have been brutal to watch.

Damn them shits on Netflix right? I might catch that 1st episode just to see what its like.

Yea I didn't know it was 8. That trailer looked like it would have a good 4 episode run. They may be pushing it with 8.

I can't imagine Netflix being able to afford production on that level yet

I don't think so either but I read this about House of Cards:

Netflix, known for their on-demand Internet streaming media service, acquired the rights for the series after outbidding cable networks AMC and HBO. [5] Netflix ordered 26 episodes to air over two seasons.[6] Spacey called Netflix’s model of dropping all episodes at once a “new perspective.”

They can afford to outbid AMC and HBO? Maybe they tried to lowball. Who knows but I do think that shows they may have some money to put into television shows. Fincher and Spacey ain't a cheap combination.

And damn maybe they do got a potential Walking Dead-esque show coming:

"The budget for the first season of Hemlock Grove is reportedly about $45 million."

Netflix maybe trying to go into this direction. I had no clue they were making moves like this. They got a Ricky Gervais show coming too.

cable better watch its back. been looking to get rid of them for a while. however, theres nothing out there that can really fuck with hbo. the walking dead and sons of anarchy are good though--shit better than a lot of the bullshit like girls and enlightenment or even newsroom. bullshit shows.

NETFLIX will never be able to rival the networks because they depend on the same people they would be competing against to make money. If they ever got that big those companies would start pulling their products off of Netflix which would kill their business.

ok cool. i dont see a lot of hbo shows on there though. so you dont think netflix is trying to compete with showtime and hbo?

Many did and Netflix still around and I watch more TV cause of Netflix (which isn't exactly good) than I ever did with cable just for fact that I can pick EXACTLY what i want to see when I want to see it.

I dont think its competing at this point because they know they cant. They depend on all these companies for their content so they really cant compete.

Them trying to create their own product came about because companies saw their success and either raised the rates on or ended up pulling or restricting their products. For example if u notice they dont carry any Starz programs and only a couple from showtime.

It s not that a company like Netflix or one with a similar model couldnt compete in theory but they would have to be almost completely original programing because the bigger they get the more resistance they would get from networks and movie companies. The amount of money it would take would be astronomical.

....looks great! Love well acted political dramas.

that was my thought. I'm definitely gonna give it a look. I like the innovative idea of having their own shit.

HULU had a few. The guy who played Urkel had a pretty well produced one.

I'd like to see them pick up some of these indie shorts out there.

not sure if the networks wanna go cutting a stream of income. Kind of a chess move.
