Sales & Marketing: Community Relations
Community Relations Coordinator, Seattle Sonics & Storm (Seattle, WA)
The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to overall Sonics & Storm community initiatives, primarily with Sonics & Storm basketball outreach programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and coordinate all basketball outreach programs for Sonics & Storm including Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA
• Coordinate and grow Sonics & Storm camps and clinics
• Strengthen relationships between Sonics & Storm and basketball community including school and youth programs
• Pursue and identify opportunities within the basketball community
• Assist with fulfillment of game night and auction experiences such as honorary ball kid and game night pre-game presentations
• Serve on Sonics & Storm Foundation working committee
• Provide web site content on basketball community events
• Provide assistance with Sonics and Storm community programs and department strategies
• Provide support at Sonics and Storm game nights and events as needed
• Provide administrative support to Community Relations Department
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of the game of basketball required
• Proven ability to manage and run basketball camps and clinics
• 2-4 years of working experience
• Available to work evenings and weekends, occasionally at short notice
• Professionalism and ability to manage community relationships
• Outgoing personality; ability to communicate in group setting
• Ability to write stories and event outlines
• Presentation/speaking skills preferred
• Event planning experience preferred
• Familiar with non-profits
• Ability to write reports and develop plans
• Possesses excellent communication skills
• Computer knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Player Development. Full Sonics & Storm employee benefits package.
