Media Relations Coordinator - San Francisco 49ers - (San Francisco, CA)
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the coordination of the team’s media relations and communications activities. Serves as one of the department’s primary feature writers for publications.
Secondary Responsibilities: • Work closely with Director of Public Relations to coordinate communication with players and coaches. • Help coordinate the team’s media activities and schedules. • Assists with coordinating player appearances on local radio and television shows. • Serve as team’s NFL Network contact, providing information and video footage for Total Access and other programming. • Write features for publications. • Write weekly game notes. • Manage distribution of transactions and roster updates to media. • Gather and confirm depth chart with head coach each week. • Receive and distribute all NFL releases, statistics and announcements to media, coaches and key staff members. • Organize and coordinate the media information packet distribution. • Gather and deliver weekly injury report to NFL and media. • Manage the process of intranet on a daily basis. • Coordinate the flip card production. • On-field PR contact on game day. • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Relations or Communications preferred, or equivalent work experience required, with at least 3 years of related experience either with a professional sports team or collegiate athletic department. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Desktop Publisher), Microsoft Outlook and the Internet.
