Orlando Magic Youth Foundation Coordinator - Orlando Magic (Orlando, FL)
JOB SUMMARY
Coordinate and assist manager on all functions associated with the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation including, but not limited to fundraising events, managing auctions, database management and facilitating the grant process while aligning with the corporate business goals and fulfilling the mission of the OMYF.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports To: OMYF Manager
• Supervises: N/A
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with manager on all aspects of the annual OMYF fund-raising events, including, but not limited to, the Orlando Magic Black Tie & Tennies Charity Gala, and the Orlando Magic Championship for Charity. Responsibilities include: Production and distribution of collateral materials; database management; handling the reservations and master attendee list; assisting with overall event coordination.
• Coordinate the silent auction process for the annual OMYF fund-raising events, including, but not limited to, the Orlando Magic Black Tie & Tennies Charity Gala and the Orlando Magic Championship for Charity. Responsibilities include: inventory maintenance, coordinating the gathering of items, developing all promotional materials/brochures, payment/accounting/collection issues, thank-you letters and all related correspondence, coordinating auction events.
• Responsible for inputting, tracking and reporting information in all databases including, but not limited to grant management, trade donations and donor contact information.
• Coordinate and assist with all aspects of the grant process including, but not limited to maintaining the application process, coordinating meetings with the VIP and Advisory meeting and communicating to agencies.
• Coordinate with manager to write articles for the DeVos family newsletter, Magic Magazine and website.
• Coordinate on-line auction such as organizing autograph items, affidavits, certificates of authenticity and uploading information to the website.
• Develop relationships with other sports foundations. Research and report best practices.
• Manage in-game auctions.
• Maintain solicitation of auction and trade items for special events.
• Collaborate with Community Relations Coordinator on volunteer recruitment and assignments for events to meet the needs of agencies that have received a grant from OMYF.
• Coordinate with manager to develop marketing materials to promote the foundation and its fundraising activities.
• Create post-event surveys and report results to manager.
• Collaborate with Community Relations team on autograph session.
• Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• None.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required (prefer a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration or related field).
• One - three years related experience in event coordination/fund-raising and/or a charity/non-profit preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills a must. (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus).
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proven ability to work independently.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Excellent ability to service a variety of internal and external publics.
• Availability to work long, irregular hours to include game nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Computer Skills (proficient with various general business applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel).
