DEPARTMENT: Community Development
REPORTS TO: Director of Community Development
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred; high school diploma required; non-profit work experience helpful
SKILLS: Excellent communication and writing skills; ability to work well with others; proficiency in Microsoft Office software
BASIC JOB FUNCTION: Coordination of the donations program for the Houston Texans, assist with Community Development events/activities as necessary
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Handle all donation requests for merchandise from the Houston Texans; * Order merchandise from team-approved vendors and maintain inventory; * Make arrangements for player autographing of donation items; * Transmit letters of acknowledgement, package the items, arrange for pick-up or mailing to requesting individuals and maintain files on the organizations requesting items; * Maintain files and prepare monthly reports on disbursements * Assist with Community Development, Corporate Development, Marketing and Public Relations departments' projects as needed, including but not limited to the Team employee United Way campaign, Team blood drive, Training Camp, player appearances, open house, draft day, etc. * Assist the Foundation Manager with fundraising events, primarily by accepting resonsibility for the auctions, and with other special projects as they arise; * Attend bi-weekly Community Development meetings and meetings with non-profit organizations as directed; * Assist in preparation of reports and materials for the Houston Texans Foundation meetings * Take full responsibility for the ImageNet All-Star Ticket program, sending out information to non-profit groups about the program, holding the orientation session, reviewing the applications, administering the program during the season for each home game (arranging for ticket pick-ups, chaperones, parking passes, volunteers, name tags and food coupons); * Perform various other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Community Development
