Community Relations Coordinator, Grassroots Basketball - Houston Rockets (Houston, TX)


JOB I.D: 039-07 TYPE: Full-time/Exempt DEPARTMENT: Community Relations POSTING DATE: 08/10/2007 REPORTS TO: Director of Community Relations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):


Develop and implement all Rockets grassroots basketball initiatives
Serve as the liaison with area school districts and non-profit organizations in establishing relevant partnerships
Initiates concepts and ideas and work directly with creative department in developing collateral for all basketball programs
Coordinates with other departments in organizing events, such as such as Clutch City Shootout, SAT Training Camp, etc.
Communicates with public relations staff in developing media plans for promoting related events
Assist Director in working with Rockets corporate representatives in creating recreation and basketball initiatives that align with partner objectives
Works with Director in developing relevant program budgets and timelines
Assist with special projects, such as Tux & Tennies and other related events.
QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 2 years experience in developing basketball programs, camps, clinics, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills is essential
Ability to manage multiple task is must
College Degree Required
