Director, Marketing Communications - New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (Oklahoma City, OK)
Director – Marketing Communications Department: Marketing Reports to: Vice President – Marketing Type: Full Time, Exempt Supervises: Advertising Manager and Creative Design
Overall Purpose: This position is responsible for the development, execution and management of Hornet brand marketing strategies. The position is expected to leverage all available expertise and resources to support organizational goals and brand initiatives, drive measurable results and enhance the overall fan experience.
Responsibilities: Specific duties include, but are not limited to: •Develop an executable Hornets brand marketing strategy •Develop efficient models for media planning and placement •Manage creative and media standards •Develop, execute and manage brand awareness initiatives •Proactively deliver actionable brand management opportunities •Serve as a respected counsel to peers and senior management •Effectively manage external relationships
Requirements: •Bachelor’s degree or equivalent •3-5 years of directly related marketing experience •Strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting •Media planning and buying experience •Staff management and development •Agency relationship management •Organizational skills •Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced, deadline driven environment • Effective verbal and written communication skills •Ability to manage multiple tasks •Sedentary position with light physical movement
