Community Relations Manager - Atlanta Falcons (Atlanta, GA)

Summary of Job

Primarily responsible for development of programs that will connect the Club and its players, coaches and staff with the community. This position plays a critically important role in building fan enthusiasm, loyalty, and goodwill; as well as the respect of our entire community for the high impact work of the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Georgia Force (AFL) franchises. Responsible for the implementation of local NFL community relations programs and initiatives, and the development and implementation of new programs specific to the state of Georgia that connect to the work of the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation and raise the visibility of the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Force in the community. Will also create and implement community relations programs in conjunction with team sponsors. Develop and implement programs for the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Force Women’s Associations, including special events, community fundraisers, and meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Developing strategic community relations projects

2. Organizing and executing special events and projects

3. Development of printed collateral material and publications

4. Managing and developing Community Relations staff

Education and Experience Requirements

1. Degree in public relations, communications, or field otherwise related to the position

2. Minimum 5 years of experience in community relations and event planning

3. Experience with a major league sports team considered a plus

Skill and Knowledge Requirements

1. Strong organizational skills

2. Excellent oral and written communications skills

3. Ability to work independently and creatively, but also work well with others

4. Leadership skills with the ability to conceptualize, execute, and see projects through to completion

5. Ability to manage both up and down, and to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

6. Effective people management skills

7. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours

8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
