Senior Graphic Designer - Atlanta Hawks & Philips Arena (Atlanta, GA)
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Lead in the planning, layout, design and production of all printed material for the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena. Items include, but are not limited to, game programs, brochures, season tickets, quarterly magazines, media guides, posters, fliers and other marketing collateral materials.
• Develop layout, design and execution of online and electronic media for Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena. Items include, but are not limited to electronic billboards, graphics for email, web site design, presentations and other electronic media.
• Develop individual design concepts as well as implement creative direction from the Sr. Manager and others
• Concept and develop original artwork including but not limited to logo design, storyboard development and custom illustrations
• Provide support for various photo shoots as well as provide photography for a variety of projects
• Communicate and interact with outside printing companies and vendors on all projects
• Communicate with internal clients during the development of materials
• Organize and maintain quality control over advertising materials submitted by team sponsors for inclusion in team publications
• Work alongside members of corporate sponsorship team to provide graphic material for sales presentations including 3D architectural renderings
• Provide support in the mentoring of department interns
• Occasional game-night responsibilities which may include, but are not limited to oversight of graphic communication materials and arena signage, game related photography and support for other departments
• Other duties as assigned by Sr. Manager or others
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Four-year college degree is required with concentrations in design preferred
• Extensive working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign required; working knowledge of Google Sketchup on a Mac platform is a plus
• Three to four years relevant experience required
• Extensive experience and knowledge of the print production process
• Strong writing and communications skills a must
• Must be able to express individual creative abilities while incorporating creative direction from the
Sr. Manager and others
• Prior experience working in a creative environment, advertising/marketing firm or related, with knowledge and enthusiasm for professional sports
• Must be motivated, and a self-starter ready to “push the envelope” when it comes to creative design concepts
• Must be collaborative and generous in their work
