Women Proposing

I know a woman who recently did this. Needless to say, it is very non-traditional.

But would you do it? Ultimately, what would make you do it and how would you do it? If not, why wouldn't you?

Do you think that the women who wouldn't propose have a real issue with it, or are just doing as they were taught by society?

I say well done to that woman for having the courage to ask that

We live in modern times. It used to be traditional for a woman to stay at home and cook. So, what's the big deal about popping the question?

Maybe if some lonely and frustrated women plucked up the courage, they could have the surprise of their life. Otherwise they could be left on the shelf.

My gf asked me out and has asked me to marry her

But, then I am handsome brother and I guess she could not resist me

Personally, Id have to propose to the woman, and would feel awkward if my girl proposed to me.

Im more traditional in that sense.

Its all about the two people involved though.

I would, why not?
I cant say I would get down on one knee....But yeah I would ask him to marry me.

I'd probably be serious about it but go about jokingly. I mean, what woman doesn't want her man to propose? But either way long as I get the answer that I want I'll be happy. Sometimes a dude just be shy, ya know?

that shit will eventually come back to haunt the dude in an argument of some sort... "i even had to ask your bitch ass to marry me" "any man would have been happy to marry me"... :smh::smh::smh::smh::smh: Just like a game of chess you have to predict you opponents next move before you make your move if you want to win.

Definitely out of the norm...takes balls for a woman to do that. I personally think a man should always propose. My mother originally proposed to steppops in the pennysaver
That wedding was called off :hmm:
Only to have another one...

And I more than likely wouldn't just bc I want to experience a proposal from a man...I expect one of those romantic movie type moves...

If a woman asked me to marry her she may end up mad at me cuz my first response is gonna be "Are u serious?"

It would feel weird to me.

But thats a normal response-because that is exactly what I said when my ex husband proposed to me....
Looking back on it, I should have took off running!

if a woman proposed to me i'd say no. then i'd say wait let me think about it. then i'd say you know what ... i don't know. then i'd say wait, ok. then i'd say but ... then i'd say i need some time. then i'd say yes.

 in between all those "then i say" she would say "fuck you"

I have no issue with a woman proposing. its 2009....if she want it then go for it.

Back in 06-07 when I was living with my ex. I told her that if she asked me to marry her I would say yes. I was dead serious cause I saw it as a sign of what I wanted out of a woman. She told me she wouldn't do it.....:smh:

Well, the down on one knee thing stems from tradition.

To answer the OP's last question, of course the majority is doing as they were taught by society, that goes for both genders.

That not an easy question. I'd would be a little leery, if she quick to ask for marriage, she'll possibility be quick to get a divorce also. Regardless the situation would be a big factor......

Who said I give head on my knees?
I sit on the bed...Lay on my side...etc;)
But ummmm no not getting on one knee....Sorry gotta pull my Diva card out on that one...And not Beyonce's version of Diva either:hmm:
:D

:DA woman will get on both knees to give head but not to
ask a man to marry her I think something is wrong with
that:lol:

So u have never given head on your knees? If no then why not?

My wife proposed to me. I pobably would have never proposed to her because I was married before, and have been known to get rid of a chick real quick. It's been a good 5 years too.

so you let her force you into something you didnt want to do?

I don't think there's really a difference between a proposal from a man or a woman. I know traditionally the proposal comes from the man but maybe the man is not in a position to make that proposal, let's say financially speaking. So if that's not an issue for the woman then why not make the proposal? The worst that can happen is he says no. Women been telling men no for years.
