The 9th episode of Game of Thrones: A Storm of Swords (Season 3) is called "The Rains of Castamere" Based on that I am sure the book readers understand what will happen in that episode.

People who have not read the books, but understand that "The Rains of Castamere" is a song but more importantly what the song means can guess what will happen in that episode but maybe not know the exact events.

Another episode based of a song is: "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" Again, you will be able to guess one major event that happens in this episode if you have read the book.

People who have not read the books, need only to look at the second word in the title and watch the trailer to understand what will happen. Of course they don't know the outcome.

"Mhysa", is the last episode of the season. It is Low Valyrian and means "Mother" anyone whether you read the books or watch the show should be able to figure out who that is. Of course book readers can imagine what will happen in this episode.

The 2 episodes "Kissed by Fire" and "And Now His Watch is Ended" are sure to focus on something colder and much darker in the series. The term kissed by fire is 100% not new to anyone who has read the books. Don't watch that episode with your parents.

"Walk of Punishment" is not looking like to be the most exciting episode. However I have read some of synopsis for the episodes and it does not seem like that the show is following the book 100%. This means scenes that were not in the book. This will sure make this episode more interesting than I can predict. Plus Varys is important to this episode, and who does not like Eunuchs.

"Dark Wings, Dark Words" the second episode is going to be... wait for it... a DARK episode. "Dark wings, dark words" is an old saying about messenger-ravens, referring to the fact that such urgently delivered messages are often bad news. However I don't think this episode will be much about the Nights Watch but more an episode that foreshadows all the bad things to come.

The first episode is "Valar Dohaeris" and "Valar Dohaeris" is High Valyrian, the response phrase to "Valar Morghulis", the title of the Season 2 finale. Commonly used in Braavos, "valar morgulis" means "all men must die" (in the sense of "all men must [eventually] die [sooner or later]"), and "valar dohaeris" means "all men must serve".
episode list:

1 "Valar Dohaeris"
2 "Dark Wings, Dark Words"
3 "Walk of Punishment"
4 "And Now His Watch is Ended"
5 "Kissed by Fire"
6 "The Climb"
7 "The Bear and the Maiden Fair"
8 tba
9 "The Rains of Castamere"
10 "Mhysa"

For book readers - we know what this line up means... a lot of characters die this season not including the rw... and a lot of really nasty ones get introduced... GRRM wrote ep7 and its supposed to not be based on or from the book, so I'm real curious to see that story. I can't wait to see:
the Unsullied
Strong Bellwas and companion
Bloody Mummers sans Vargo Hoat (retconned as Locke)
the tragic death of Mormont and desved death of Craster
Night's Watch vs White Walkers n Others - first real battle...

Other than rw -what are y'all looking forward to?

What exactly are you referring to? They changed a bunch of shit that I understand why they did it, but I don't necessarily like.

Yeah. They made their way to Harrenhal, not back home to Winterfell.

And yeah, the whole Strong Belwas/Artsan Whitebeard thing disappointed me. The new scenes with the Tyrells and Joffrey were :hmm:

This episode was clearly to familiarize the audience… 2nd episode should definitely set things off, although I hear they they don't have Vargo Hoat in the show at all. They created some new character instead, which is some bullshit.

Was happy to see my man, Qyburn up in there!

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers upto bk 4 stay

Yeah no Vargo, but his retcon still does a lot of the nastiness - dude playing Jaime Lanester speaks very highly of their scenes together

Considering the changes with Tyrion and others, I wonder if they are still going to cut off Jaime's hand?

How long until we meet "what rhymes with reek?" & the flay master?

From the trailer, I saw the bear in the pits, so I'm hoping that the whole Brianne and Jaime situation goes down. They have to cut dude's hand off.

Clueless on what they're doing with Theon. They've only mentioned Ramsey Bolton and the way they left things with Theon off last season doesn't jib with the book. We've seen Roose Bolton plenty, but not Ramsey.

It's been discussed on here that the Red Wedding will be Ep. 9, but I'm almost certain that the Tyrion/Tywin situation will be in the penultimate episode in Season 4.

I think Joffrey's wedding and Tyrion leaving King's Landing is next season...

I read somewhere, the directors want to do atleast 8 seasons...Hopefully,by that time the sixth book is out...

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers upto bk 4 stay

Didn't even pick up on this in Season 2, but was going back and re-watching and a quote was made:

"A naked man has few secrets....a flayed man has none...."

Then in the new episode I saw that same dude and I saw the sigil on his chest. Then I saw that guy with the hood up, strung up in the "X", with the guy with the fat fingers turning the knob...yeah, I know who that is...

It's going down this season!!!

Red Wedding is this season. Episode 9's title is "The Rains of Castamere" which is the song played at the Red Wedding.

Tyrion, Tywin and the crossbow will be next season and the final episode of that season will be the various reveals surrounding Varys and Littlefinger.

Didn't even pick up on this in Season 2, but was going back and re-watching and a quote was made:

Just re-watched that trailer. Yeah, get ready for Ramsey and the origin of Reek. Theon was last seen with a hood over his head as his men dragged him in Winterfell. But they really need to explain what happened here. Big deviation from the book.

Saw Jaimie screaming in the trailer – there goes that hand.

And how are they going to do Coldhands? Keep a hood on dude the whole time?

Yunkai used to be part of Ghis, and has at least languages tongues which are spoken in the city. Mhysa, Maela, Aelalla, Qathei, and Tato are given as names for mother, but which tongue fits which name is unknown (excepting the first, which is Ghiscari).

to my knowledge -No one gets killed in SoIaF because they're gay...

I have a problem with the retcon of Rob's wife - it takes away from showing you how devious Tywin is...
How are they going to show that Tywin set Rob up by getting the Westerlys to pimp their daughter out to Rob- making Walder Frey an ally, especially after he had already recruited the Iron Isles and Baltons - dude is easily the most cold calculating mother fucker ever written... how are they going to show that character without losing some of that edge without the Westerleys?

I think you're giving Book Tywin to much credit. I don't think he set that up at all. I think he just took advantage of Rob's mistake by reminding Westerley who the boss.

No one made Rob marry the chick either in the book or the show. It just reminded people how much he was Ned's son.
