Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025

I tried to install Windows 11 awhile ago but I got an incompatible error. Guess I'll have to try again soon.

One of my jobs is in the process of upgrading everyone to Windows 11.
My system is slated to be upgraded at the end of next month.

If for some reason you can't upgrade, you can pay for an extension for up to 3 more years.
I think I bought my computer in 2016. Future proofed it then so it's still running solid now. No need to upgrade so I'll just do this.

I have a 9 year old computer, no issues, no sluggishness, It is time for an upgrade but it's a pirate ship and I need to figure out how to move all this booty over to a new ship.

I think they are close to making Linux more compatible with X86/x64 apps. I'm going to try some versions out on a live USB install and see if I like it. I'm not upgrading until EOL. I really don't want Windows 11 because I don't like UI. I'm also worried I will lose some backwards compatibility with some games that I have.

You can use utilities like AOMEI Backupper, take your existing drive and copy everything over to an new hdd (nvme or ssd). Slap it in the new machine and then install the new computer's chipset drivers and other necessary programs.

I've thought about that

but the "booty" in this case is pirated games and I was trying to see about cloning the drives

I keep all my loot on a separate hdd. That way I never have to worry about that. Just install windows on the c: and then install the apps and point to the apps on the separate drives. Prevents me from ever worrying about losing them.

I been updated to 11. Before it dropped. The home version won't let you install some programs but there's ways around it. I think it's way better than 10.

i've been on windows 11 almost since it came out. and i try to get whatever family members updated to the newest os asap. that way i won't have headaches later on down the road with them lol.

Ok, so that clears up an issue that I had.

I have two hard drives on this computer, one with the OS and the other with the pirated games, I did it that way so the entire drive can be excluded from Windows security.

Now I'll just clone that to a newer hard drive and I'm pretty much ready to go.
